I'll be honest..didnt see that game. I only went off what I read in the stats column. Those 8 sacks stuck out.

In 2006, the Seahawks didn't have their best player (Shaun Alexander) for that Bears game. That probably hurt Seattle's offense, no?

I'm sure it did hurt their offense. The Bears still dominated Seattle though. Seattle was riddled with injuries all year and by the playoffs were pulling guys off the street to play DB for them, and they still nearly beat the Bears in the divisional round.

They did....unless you mean for the regular season game.

In the playoffs he ran for over 100 yards and two touchdowns.

I still remember Briggs stuffing him on a 4th and short from around the Bears 45 at the end of regulation.

To be fair to the Bears in the playoff rematch they were missing Tommie Harris and Mike Brown. Two guys who helped dominate the first regular season match up.

Both teams dealt with key injuries etc that would have had an impact on the outcome/performance in each game.

The smartest thing is to play them for the first half and evaluate from there.

The smartest thing to do is to play the backups all game, that way we don't have to face the packers in the playoffs until the NFC ship AT HOME....Just sayin...

anyways, I wouldn't rest the starters at all, that is unless the win is guaranteed, the Bears need to do whatever they can to keep the pack out of the playoffs imo.

2005 they were playing amazing defense, got a bye...and got bent over by Steve Smith.

Again: The way the team is playing right now or next week, barring injuries, will have no effect on what they do three weekends from now in the playoff game.

I really don't care what any random fans opinion is, a whole lot of bickering for people who have no control over the decision anyway.

The way it best looks to be is, is preseason game it... The way teams go into the 2nd preseason game is saying we will start out playing and get to the point where we have a good rhythm so the motion has been felt and the team has gone through the feeling of getting into a game. Some may want to take it into the 3rd preseason game mode where you do 1 starter drive out of halftime but it is up to flow of the game.

There is something to fear of injuries and is too fear of out of rhythm of playing a game. Even so a player can get injured in the first drive (Wes Welker last year) or event he first drive of your playoff game (Palmer 05/06) But you aren't going too loose any connection in the team by having starters sit for a half of a game.

How on earth do you have your way with a defense, when you give up 2 turnovers, and only put 3 points on the score board? :confused:
What? B/C yardage was on the board? Good for the stat geeks, but the only stat that counts...3 points on the board against 13 for the bears.

I guess you just add to this "non intelligent" site... :obama:

Now that there is absolutely nothing to play for it would be stupid and wreckless for Lovie not to change his mind and sit the first-string players. It only takes one play for Cutler or Peppers to be put on IR and we cannot beat any team in the post season without both of those players.

Its taken only one play all season long for Cutler and Peppers to end up on IR. Either could end up on IR the first play of the playoffs.
