That's scary then because Pirri doesn't even PK.
PK? This guy does NOTHING except look for an open area and tap his stick in hopes somebody else is gonna get the puck and give it to him. He had a 22 goal season in 40 some games and Fla didn't offer him a deal of any kind afterward....he had TWO assists that year!LOL! His play without the puck is worse than Nolander's and that's why he's constantly sent back down even though he pots a few every time up. Like you,I fear our GM and HC are stupid enough to put him on the big club.

Seriously......do any of you really think this team will contend this year? Why all the complaints? Just treading water at this point till they figure a way around the bad contracts. This move is just a small step, it's not exactly the motherload but it is an expiring contract that they can bundle at the deadline. They are not now, nor will they be soon, a contender for a Cup......until they are willing to dump the two $10 mil guys and a couple of broken down dmen, it will remain like this for awhile.
The two 10M guys are still the team's best forwards by far and one of the "broken down" D-men is still our best at that position too. How much would the team spend on replacing a 1LC,a superstar winger and a big minute D-man?
How about not spending 15.7M on de Haan,Maata,Shaw and Smith last summer and using that money properly supporting our best players?
For the record.......are you actually saying the team would improve without Kane,Toews and Keith? Seabs deal is a lost cause and it's a lost cause due to Scambo!
And also for the record.......I'm okay moving any and all core players at this point so they can have another deserved shot at a cup but I have zero faith in Scambo getting a return or using that space properly. Kane and Toews both had career years two seasons back and the team was 2 over and missed,NO two forwads in the league could carry this squad!

Yeah the guy's nothing but a team-hopper. Don't get me wrong: I'm not going to miss Sikura and I've never been a fan of his (nice kid of course; I mean strictly as a player), but I probably would've just kept him if I couldn't package him in a deal. Pirri is what he is at this point in his career; at least with Sikura, it's still very early in his career and he might have a higher ceiling -- there is a chance, albeit very slim. With Pirri, I'd say there's zero chance -- the guy is close to 30 and has already been on 5 different teams in his career.

LOL, if you offered that description of a player to the guys I skated with for many years, all of them would think of me.

I could snipe but wound up injured every time I went into a corner so contact became my kryptonite. Not a good quality for a hockey player, hence I have not skated in 20 years.

Immediately improve? Absolutely not. Long term....no question, if the GM is worth his salt. Which is the biggest reason the Bowmans should be shown the door. The window on this team is closed. If they continue with Bowman's yearly patch work, they are only putting off the inevitable until all of your best players are too old and have regressed enough where their value becomes negligible. You need to go down before you go up and that can be really painful as it requires moving players that have been team cornerstones and can still play. Running a mediocre team out there year after year is a recipe for franchise disaster.

I'm at a point where I'm okay trading anyone myself but SB gettin' it right is a stretch for me. I agree as far as the "patch work" not working and no man's land is a bad place to be let alone stay in! I guess my only issue was pointing to the 21M K&T make as the team's biggest stumbling blocks because SB spent 20.7M on Lehner,de Haan,Maata,Shaw and Smith. That's 20.7M,if spent properly could have made a huge impact if not squandered.

Yeah, they probably got the wrong guy doing this....I'm guessing Bowman's old man is turning heads over there. Scotty's time has passed, but unfortunately people still believe in the old ****.

This makes zero sense. So of course it makes sense. Bowman has to go.
haha.

Well...it removes that sick feeling when the roster got so depleted at one point I thought Sikura was the next guy up and I had to pep talk myself into believing he could give us 3 good periods.

I have to believe Pirri has a better chance of scoring a goal again in the NHL. than Sikura.
