There is something though characteristic of Rush's stuff that I can't quite put my finger on. Contast and saturation specifically. I don't really design stuff like this, so it's hard for me to say. If I had to guess I would say it's levels.

I'm going to have to mess with it a bit and see if I can figure it out. Not sure if you even know what I'm talking about specifically, since I didn't explain it that well.

Do you mean the coloring or the render? I have a technique I use on all of my renders to make them "pop" that isn't done a whole lot by most graphic makers. Picked it up over the years.

Render. It's almost HDRish (if you're familiar with that kind of photography). I have it kind of on the road actually, messing with shadows / highlights / multiple layers with different blending modes etc. Probably will take me quite a bit of experimentation to nail it, but I think I'm getting close. Bookmarking this little project for another day when I have some time and I'm bored. Cool shit regardless, nice work :)

I got the look I was looking for (kind of) messing with a bunch of stuff. Going to try it your way next. Very half ass masking job and I just stuck it on black for now. I might finish this one of these days and use it for my sig here.

Edit> Made a few changes to it. Still not done yet. It's been a looooong time since I fucked with Photoshop for fun.

I'd beg to differ.

Sig battle to settle it all? You put what you think is your best work up against what I think mine is.....unless you're afraid?

:smug:
3 way sig battle because me > MRN
Let's do this shit!

The War Machine sig just looked like a stock photo with some blending options thrown on. I didn't know that was your Sistine Chapel painting accomplishment lol.

You have the PSD still? If it's more sophisticated then that, I'd honestly like to know how it was done.
lol it's not, it's the only sig I showed you that's why I referenced it. You're looking at only one aspect of the painting though. I'm not a stock collector so finding a good background usually is the longest process. It has to have a couple of elements that I can work with. Color obviously isn't one of them but using the images inside and seeing what I can twist to add some depth is what I usually look for.

After that it's the cutting. I've found some good render packs here and there but I like using my own cuts for the most part. I've used masking programs like Mask Pro 4 and others but the pen tool has proved to be the most successful thus far. If you've ever used it on a consistent basis you know it's a hell of a lot harder than just whipping out the eraser and going to work lol

Then the fun begins for me. It's a 3 part process. I don't have a set "style" yet like it seems you guys do, so I switch it up a lot. That's why sigs don't get "pumped out" by me...

Oh & Rush take the "Skills' Tag Shop" line of the thread title if you can. It's obviously not just about me taking requests anymore :beerbang:
