Yeah well there's a stark difference between Scotty Bowman and Mike Gillis. Scotty bowman has more cup rings than he does fingers. Gillis has no cup rings. Bowman is considered one of the if not the greatest NHL coach ever. Gillis is not the greatest GM ever. Bowman has forgot more about hockey than Gillis will ever know.



So if I was a ref and Bowman came to me, I'd listen, he knows more than me. Gillis...I'd politely listen and do the same exact thing I was doing.

Everything you mention is true, however in the minds of Canucks fans things are skewed. Gillis>Bowman, Sisters>Lemieux Gretzky love child, Kesler>Messier, Burrows>Gordie Howe. They seriously view their whole franchise as the best thing ever and none of them can ever do wrong, in fact the only part they understand is Schneider>Luongo.

According to Canuck fans Scotty supposedly went to talk to the refs after game 2 or 3. So that's the reason they were forced to play until game 7.

It's not rare for a GM to talk to the officials after or before a game. It is however very rare for a GM to hold a press conference to voice (check that..WHINE) to the press and the hockey world to try and get sympathy. And it is completely different than facing a question in a post game about officiating (although the Canucks like to have questions planted in those situations). One should not call and organize a press conference to ***** about officiating. Canuck fans like to try and compare apples and oranges.



What Gillis did was beyond the scope of professional and it has put another black eye on the club. No one outside of the Canucks fan base found that to be an appropriate means of conducting oneself. It's really no wonder that the Canucks have become the most disliked team in the NHL. And they aren't disliked because of any winning history..they are disliked because of the whining history!!! HEHEHEHEHE.



Canucks are great at painting targets on themselves. I have no problem with this. If they want to give their opponents more fuel then by all means they can go right ahead with that. It continually comes back and bites them in the ass. Once they drop that act of theirs they may actually be able to win something other than the garbage division they are in. They could have won the cup this year had they just shut their mouths and played the game. They cause distractions and are a distraction to themselves and that is the best part of the Canucks franchise. Makes me laugh.

I watched game 1 of the Hawks/Nucks playoff series last night.

My burning hatred has been renewed.

I was watching it too, yes my buring hatered was dying down but after last night I recharged my self. I just hate that the NHL Network goes game 1 Chicago, then game 7 Pitt, game one Chicago, and game 6 pitt. then game one Chicago and then game 2...weird.

Yeah, definitely. Everytime I thing I've figured out the pattern.... ummm nope.

Can't complain though, I've gotten the NHL Network for a few years now and have never been charged.

It was probably both the Burrows incident and the series that started it all. I remember the Canucks being so sure of themselves prior to that and when they got their asses handed to them they got extremely butthurt. And in 2010 they were supposed to win again, but failed again. The whole "see you in the playoffs" comment to Kaner by Luongo in the handshake line in the Olympics probably didn't help either. There might have been things said and done during the first series that might have given that extra spice needed for the two teams to loathe each other.
