You guys ever get it?
I used to get it quite often back in my 20's.
Got one last night in a long time.
Freaky stuff...

I've never heard of it, sounds unpleasant. I am very familiar with The Jimmy Leg, which sounds like the opposite.

Uh oh.... I never had it until I heard about it either...
Good luck, 51.

Joking aside, it absolutely sucks!
The first time I had it I was laying on my stomach and for real I thought someone was sitting on my back.

I work with a guy who had that restless leg thing.
He said he used to get up at middle of night and punch his own leg to relieve pain.
Hope yours ain't that bad.

Yeah I still get them from time to time usually if I eat shitty foods or drink a lot of alcohol right before going to bed.

I usually get them during naps. This time was at night.
But I know what you mean. If the body is weak it probably doesn't help.

Don't sleep on your back. That's the biggest trigger I guess. I get it quite a bit but I got used to it. Usually just count to 10 and I'm awake

Think it depends on the person as I sleep on my sides and still get it. Sleep apnea is also a trigger due to your brain getting a lack of oxygen which the bad foods and alcohol exacerbate apparently.

I ended up getting a tempurpedic so I could elevate my head position to create a better passage for air. That seems to have done the trick for the most part.

Usually I can just slightly move a finger or a toe and I just wiggle that thing until I snap out of it.
Man I remember freaking out the first time....
When I think back on it, it was probably one of the most thrilling things to ever happen to me.
Kinda like a heroin high, it never got as good(scary) as that first time.

The first time you wake up paralyzed has to be the most frightening thing ever. I have never heard of this so I would just assume "well I'm paralyzed for life now, that sucks". After that you look it up, from then on you know it's temporary and you are going to be okay in a few minutes, not as terrifying as the first time, but still not cool. I wake up I gotta take a piss, now I gotta lay here for 10 minutes, not good.

I have sleep apnea and use a cpap. It really helps and I no longer have hangovers which can be bad since I can drink more sometimes and not worry about the hangover.

I remember as a kid thinking it was a sign from God as I would usually be having a nightmare and consciously trying to wake up but couldn't. So I'd be aware of noises outside my nightmare like my mom trying to wake me but still experiencing the nightmare unable to wake up.

yeah you can still get it on your sides but sleeping on your back is the easiest way to trigger it.

first time I ever got it I was probably 10. I remember trying to roll my body over and I guess I woke up at the same time I tried to roll and I rolled off my bed and smacked my face on my desk. good times.

Never had it myself, but my friend described it, since he gets it quite often. Sounds pretty terrible. I wonder what causes it.

What happens to me a lot is waking up breathing really hard, like I was out of breath.

That sounds like sleep apnea.
