One day after much snow had fallen it all decided to melt into giant cold puddles that were ankle deep at every intersection. These puddles were then covered by ice/snow that had not melted yet. Guess what I stepped into many times?

Hmm. Melting experiences. This one time it snowed really bad, and there was one snow plow driver that did all the maintenance on the machines. They wouldn't run if he didn't fix them periodically, so all the other plow truck drivers pretty much did what he said. I think a few of them used to give him BJ's in his truck, but that was just a rumor. Anyways, he'd only plow the roads of the people he liked. The people he didn't like, he would go inside their mailboxes and go through all their mail, looking for ads for other plow companies in case they got any bright ideas. I used to be one of the plow drivers, but they fired me without talking to me about it first. I think it might be b/c I called one of the competitor companies because I knew a few drivers there. That's the only story I can think of.

This wasn't necessarily snow melting... but when I was a kid, it rained one winter and there was a pretty decent puddle that formed somewhere in my backyard. The next couple of days got extremely cold and the water froze. The temp went up one day and the ice melted, and the puddle was there again. We put a fish in that puddle, and accidentally left it there. Overnight it got real cold again and the water froze. The fish died.

I wish I could but here in Upstate N.Y. we've gotten only 5 total inches...unprecedented for a winter.
