Ohtani has elbow procedure, set to only hit in '24

Shohei Ohtani had elbow surgery Tuesday, and his doctor said he expects the Angels' two-way star will be available as a hitter on Opening Day next season and will return to the mound as a pitcher in 2025.

Given that he's a hitter only apparently in 24, does anybody think he signs a deal with more than 2 years before he's a FA again?

Unless that's his decision, I think a team will certainly still give him 8-10 years and live with him just being an incredible offensive threat year 1

Morel has been really good at the plate in September.

A 125 wRC and dropped his K rate to 21%, he has shown a lot of maturity lately.

I think teams will be willing to sign him to longer than 2 years. I just think he's going to have an opt out after year 2 in any deal he signs.
