Can we use that cap space to either sign someone good? Or use it to take salary from someone in a trade from a team trying to avoid the luxury tax? Could there be a silver lining here?

Quit overreacting. The Bulls will be in the playoffs next year.

The Bulls barely made the playoffs this past year. Do you think they are going to make it next year with no one to space the floor for Rose and Tyrus Thomas getting more possessions per a game?

To asnswer your question, we have no cap space this year regardless of signing BG and have max capspace to sign someone next year regardless. So we gained nothing and lost a lot.
