So how many idiots are going to be suckered in to predicting 10-11 wins for the Bears for the 30th straight season?

How about the record against the lions?

Depends how quickly Allen can shore up that awful run defense we saw last season. Without Ben Johnson, the Lions probably do the smart thing and keep running the ball all day long, while Goff feasts off the Play Action in between.

I would be prepared for the Lions to sweep and elated if the Bears prove me wrong.

I'm also at 9-8 but wouldn't be surprised at 10 wins. But it's going to be a TOUGH division.

HOME

Detroit Lions—split so win at home
Green Bay Packers—split so win at home
Minnesota Vikings—split so win at home
Dallas Cowboys—win
New York Giants—win
Cleveland Browns—win
Pittsburgh Steelers—win
New Orleans Saints-win

AWAY

Detroit Lions—loss
Green Bay Packers—loss
Minnesota Vikings—loss
Philadelphia Eagles—loss
Washington Commanders—loss
Baltimore Ravens—loss
Cincinnati Bengals—loss
San Francisco 49ers—loss
Las Vegas Raiders—win

Man these road games are BRUTAL. Tough schedule. Basically winning all of our home games and losing all of our away games. IDK, this looks like a very tough schedule. They have the SECOND toughest SOS in the NFL this year. IDK if we get to nine wins. We will HAVE to win road games, and against who? Our division is tough. I'm KINDLY splitting them. But PHI, WAS, BAL, CIN, SF—oof. All feel like losses.

9-8 but it feels shaky now that I see it. IDK.

Don't forget to get your expensive season tickets and buy some $30 beers and $20 hot dogs while you're at it!

Bears divisional record the last 3 years: 0-6, 2-4, 1-5
Yep. And while I did split them 3-3, IDK. It could just as easily be 1-5 or 2-4. 3-3 would be quite the improvement. Assuming we win all three home games, can we steal ANY of the three in MIN, GB, or DET? IDK.

You'd have been right 20% of the time over the last 30 years with this prediction, and we're overdue with six straight <10 win seasons, so sure why not

if you think this version of the bears are as good as the Lovie playoff teams, you're crazy

You can but it might not be terribly realistic.

8-9 wins is where I'm at, right about what I expected last year. I wouldn't be surprised by more though other than to say our schedule looks daunting.

Wait...you are saying I could say 9 would be a great season but it's not terribly realistic and then you are saying you expect somewhere between 8-9 wins?

I'm confused.

BTW...I'm not expecting 9 wins, I'm saying that's the Bears having a great season for this squad.

I would say the over/under is 8 wins and I'm probably under 8 at this point.

But it's hard for me to be an optimist about this team. I've learned from lots of experience.

I'm saying predicting anything over 9 wins is pretty unrealistic.

Here's a random question? For those who would want this team to draft Armand Membou if he's there @ 10, are they thinking Wright would move positions? Or Membou?

Not understanding that part...doesn't seem like asking either of them to move to L tackle would be a good idea. And Membou apparently didn't look that great on the interior from what I've been reading, but I know nothing.

Wright played left tackle his junior year and was fine playing that position. Wright showed he could slim down and work on being more athletic rember when he was drafted he thought he had to pass the WR workout by the time he returned from break and he was able to do it. He is also next up for an extension so if he can play left that is more valuable.

Membou is the better athlete but I wouldn't force a rookie to play LT unless he actually won it during camp.
