So it turns out the Fire are playing a match at Soldier Field the Saturday night before the Bears home opener at noon on Sunday.

Is this typical? Seems like an oversight.

Torn ACL's don't matter when your city is drowning in debt.

This isn't an oversight, the NFL, Bears ownership, and the City of Chicago don't really care about anything besides $$.

Isn’t this the raiders stadium not the bears?

Bears hired the same architects . . .so the allegiant stadium perks are already what they are capable of #drool

Maybe poles is going to take the $ he saved this year by not signing any good players
and use it towards a new field surface?

Maybe that’s been his secret plan all along

My favorite teams
  1. Chicago White Sox
  1. Chicago Bulls
  1. Chicago Bears
  1. Nebraska Cornhuskers
  2. Villanova Wildcats
Maybe If the NFL put out their schedule earlier this wouldn’t happen.

Now this is the type of tomfoolery that makes me not gives two fucks that the Bears org wants to move to the suburbs and have their own state of the art facility.
Don’t give a shit where the Bears play…. Liked for use of the word tomfoolery.

At least Bono stopped playing there and ruining the field before every home opener when he hurt his back.

Also, since this conversation comes up like every 6 months, the Bears dictate what the Park district does, and the Bears insist on not installing field turf.

As for opposing players, Soldier Field is properly rated as either the worst or the second worst field to play on aside Pittsburgh (I could be wrong but maybe Pittsburgh did something about it).

Just put turf in and problem solved. This stubborn insistence for grass is ridiculous. The 85 Bears played on cement.

A scheduling conflict with the Chicago Bears forced the move. The Bears’ lease with Soldier Field gives the team a five-day window before games. The Bears are set to host the Detroit Lions on Oct. 3, which forced the Fire to move the match to Bridgeview.

Sounds like the bears are fine. Field should be pristine for at least one week.

I still remember the Eagles field ending Wendell Davis's career. That was a brutal field
