"They've " been talking about this for years now... If I'm not mistaken, this has started to be implemented in some areas.

The big obstacle to getting these installed across the country is the cost would be astronomical. Obviously the money saved would make up for it eventually, but its still a fortune (to put it lightly) right out the gate.

Maybe rush can get Google to finance it.

They'd only support it with ads and if pornstars continued using dirt roads.

This is something I could get behind.

Cool concept, saw this years ago. But too expensive for any real application. Would cost 20-30k to do a driveway, let alone a parking lot or road. Need to invest in clean energy aka Nuclear power and get rid of our Coal plants and we will be much happier.

Efficiency and cost isn't even reasonable for homeowners yet. This is a great concept but the cost would be out of control. Sure would be cool to see them implement in a few areas to test it and refine it.

Excuse my ignorance as I am not a stock market guy outside of the basics but how do public investors make money off of this sort of technology? Unless the product is mainly to be sold to private households or private business willing to use said expensive technology for private construction? Until the manufacturing costs go down wouldnt that drive away any investors?

Im not clear on what IPO is either as i need that one dumbed down. Just curious.

Programming the roads is a neat idea, but wait until the hackers get a hold of it.

It's an awful idea.

Not only is it extremely environmentally unfriendly, but in order for any of these solar roadways projects to reach even 20% of their claims, would require breaking many laws of physics. It's snake oil.

Dave Jones breaks it down well. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HOZBrHqTJk4 *warning* If you're not mathematically minded, you might not understand half the things he says.

Yeah, when something sounds to good to be true it usually is. That certainly doesn't stop our Government or environmentalists though.

You can believe, if it actually held up to the claims in the original video, a Company would have already been laying down roads.
