Not to be outdone, Vogelbach decides he wants to hit a double too. Unfortunately he was stranded.
so who is coming up for sept call ups?

They probably call up Beliveau, Dolis (assuming he's not broken) and Maine to bolster the pen. Campana and Cardenas might get called back up as bench guys. Maybe Sappelt. That's about it.
im surprised no one wanted campana for late innings
Where's that Soler interview? :fist:
The Cubs named Brandon Hyde as the new director of player development, promoting him from his role as the club’s Minor League field coordinator. He replaces Oneri Fleita, who was dismissed. Hyde, 38, joined the Cubs last offseason after spending the previous nine seasons in the Marlins organization, most recently as the club’s Major League bench coach from June 23, 2010, through the end of the 2011 season. Before working at the big league level, Hyde was the Marlins’ Minor League infield coordinator to begin 2010 and spent the previous seven seasons as a Minor League manager and coach in the Marlins system.
Javier Baez, Matt Szczur and Rubi Silva are among the Cubs prospects who will play in the Arizona Fall League. Baez was the Cubs’ No. 1 pick in 2011. The trio will be joined on the Mesa Solar Sox by pitchers Dae-Eun Rhee, Nick Struck, Tony Zych, and Zach Rosscup. Kevin Rhoderick will be on the taxi squad.

Also, re: Fall League play:
Made a new thread for off-season leagues btw
K, think MiLB playoffs start in less than a week. Mesa starts 10/4.
The Cubs won't add too many players when rosters expand on Saturday. Most of the players they want to see, such as Brett Jackson and Josh Vitters, are already with the big league team.
Cubs manager Dale Sveum said he has talked to general manager Jed Hoyer about players to be called up once the Minor League season ends.
"It's not going to be a great amount of people, that's for sure," Sveum said. "You'll call some pitchers up to take some pressure off the bullpen and starters, so that always helps. There are a few position players who have already been here."
That list would include outfielder Tony Campana and infielder Adrian Cardenas, who are expected to be recalled.
