Have to agree with Jax as well. Mom loves you and her daughter. It was not done out of spite but because of the love she feels. After reading your insight she may even have some guilt with the man she is married to and wants to do something special for the two of you.

Having witnessed this family dynamic with my own two eyes (four if you count the glasses) - I would bet this was exactly the reason. Your Mudder-In-Law is one of the sweetest people I've met and while she gets hung up on the "ideal" family and overlooks a lot of emotional abuse from the asshole you call a father-in-law - you know she just loves you guys.



And she is Catholic - so the guilt thing is strong with her. Besides, I can't wait to grab bag you some foot powder.
