Soriano just needs a lot of help. He would be better of as a DH I think

Yes he would, which is why a trade to the AL would help him a lot. Problem is finding an AL team to take him without us basically buying him out.

But then we are stuck with Campana playing more..... not a pretty thing to see

It's not a horrible thing. Campana is very young and he batted for a high average in the minors. And if Soriano gets traded, Jackson and Flathery will more than likely be called up anywys

The pitchers were crappier in the minors. So far Campana has shown an incredible ability to not get the ball past the pitcher

But hey, let him play more. Could use the #1 pick.

I want to see Jackson and Flathery, I think they have great upside. But Campy does nothing for me outside of his speed. High batting average in the minors shows me nothing to be honest. Look at the other high BA AAA guys we have had who have not hit in the majors. Hoffpauir, Pie, Colvin ect.

Add in that Campy might have the worst arm in the majors, and it makes you wish he was only a pinch runner.

Don't get me wrong I want Jackson to be called up but the guy is batting .175 in Iowa.

He's only been there a week and a half. There's no real rush to bring him up in a lost season anyway, but if he's still hitting that bad in a month or so then there's cause for worry.

Well if the season is lost, might as well bring him up to get experience. If he can come up here and hit for two months and do good, thats a huge confidence boost for him. And maybe can impress Pujols or Fielder. The Cubs need to make their team more appealing for those two.

They also probably don't want to start Jackson's service clock until they absolutely have to...and also not until guys like Fukudome, Byrd and Soriano are moved.

To do that, we need to trade an outfielder.

Fuki leaving would shift Byrd to right and Jax in CF. Trading Byrd would just as easily open a spot.

Trade both, then we can play the good young OF in the minors

Indians have been rumored heavily to want him with Choo out for a while. He would be a god fit there.

And I am sure Byrd would be attractive to a lot of teams.

Yea definitely. I love Byrd, he always plays his heart out. It would suck to see him go but if we can get a good deal, maybe a prospect or two, then got to let him go

Byrd is the most easy to trade outfielder we have. He is cheap, and is playing well. He would also bring back the best value out of anyone we can trade because of those two traits.

Absolutely man, I agree. I was just saying it would suck to see him go because he always gives 110%

Byrd has to give 110% or else he'd just be another average ballplayer :D

This fascination with trying hard or rather I should looking like they are trying hard has got to stop. The reason this team is bad isn't because guys aren't hustling or aren't trying. It is because they aren't good at baseball. There are a lot of factors that caused that, but lack of talent is far bigger problem on this team than lack of effort.

Well first of all Quade does not know how to use his players. Castro his not a 3hitter. Castro Ramirez Byrd and Barney are good players, they should be 1-4 hitters. Garza is are only good starter. I think Cashner would've had a good year if he didnt get injured. Marshall and Russel are good bullpen guys. Marmol is not a closer. So yes we don't have much talent but Quade is screwing up a lot.
