Sandberg would be my top choice, too. But, i do like Girardi, no matter the cost. He knows how to win and what to do in big game pressures. That, you just can't learn "on the fly". Quade will get a dose of that if we somehow get to play in big games in the summer or in a race down the stretch.

He knows how to win because he has a god damn 200 million dollar payroll with the Yankees. Anyone could have managed that team to a World Series.

Why do you want a small ball manager? That's stupid. You can't win with small ball in this era.

Girardi knows how to win? What the **** does that mean?

He wins big games by out managing his opponent. What the **** did you think it meant?

Yeah, that $200 million payroll really came in handy when he won the 2006 Manager of the year award.

Or because he has far surperior players than anyone else. I know a lot of Yankee fans that absolutely hate Girardi. He can't manage a bullpen to save his life.

I'm sure that had nothing to do with having great, young talent. Managers don't mean much of anything unless you have a complete dumbass as your manager.

Yeah, just ask Texas fans about Ron Washington and his 8th inning collapse.

I guess you missed where I said, unless you have a complete dumbass of a manager. The way he managed that inning was dumb.

If you use such simple logic, then, obviously, i have nothing to argue against it. Texas bullpen throws strikes and you think Washington is greatest thing since slice bread. Texas blows it, and Washington is an "idiot".

So, tonight he's smart, again.

Girardi is a dumbass.

Teixeira went 0-5, therefor he sucks.

Murphy went 2-3 with 2 RBI's, he's great!

I would have said the same thing if the Rangers would have won that game. Washington completely over managed that inning, regardless of outcome. You don't need to be switching pitchers every batter.

Right, i meant if Darren Oliver had thrown strikes. And i agree with you, but, he's not a dumbass. That part i disagree about. He just choked under the pressures of the big stage, had to doubt himself which led to mistakes. Girardi handles the big stage pretty well, i'd say.

You're right, Washington is not a dumbass manager in general. I would sure as heck take him but it was pretty dumb how he handled that situation.

The Yankees won last year's World Series because they had the best team. Not because of Girardi. Also, I want no part of Sandberg. He's incredibly infatuated w/ bunting and he does it so often during a game, as if he thinks he'll lose if he doesn't do it. Small ball gets you nowhere in the MLB currently if it's what you rely on to score runs all the time

What ever happened to nothing annoying you or making you mad?

And so far this topic, CO has been right, so I don't know what your talking about.
