No chance they take either. Rios will IMO be waived if they pull off a trade for Rasmus, who the Cardinals would be foolish to trade him now. His value is way too low w/ the awful season he's had offensively and defensively. Please do and take Pierre or Rios with ya, STL. ray:

If the White Sox do get Rasmus, Jordan Danks will likely go the Cards IMO
The Cards are talking about a trade for Jackson or Thorton and a prospect.. If they take Jackson, I think they'll try to keep him more than a rental. Rasmus is not having a great season but still worth way more than a rental.
I'd be perfectly fine with a deal like that. Rasmus has a great upside.
Yes he does... I guess you try and trade for a player that's stock is low as of now and hope his peak comes to that.
Another example, BJ Upton.
Also, there's no word on the prospect.
My guess for the prospect would be Jordan Danks. I've been hearing his name thrown around the trade rumor mill for awhile.
Weren't they talking about getting Rasmus earlier this season? Maybe late last season? I don't know but this isn't the first time I've heard of this rumor
This...Just being facetious. Rasmus is not having a good year, but at this point I'd still take him over Rios in center. Rios is a lost cause IMO.

According to the Chicago Sun-Times' Joe Cowley, White Sox GM Kenny Williams will target disgruntled outfielder Colby Rasmus this winter and might offer the Cardinals a package centered around Carlos Quentin.
Cowley's source says Cardinals scouts were "paying extra attention" to Quentin at the end of the season and also noted that Rasmus' name had been brought up by the White Sox brass during the final weeks of the season. Rasmus' relationship with manager Tony La Russa is frosty, at best. However, unless the White Sox are offering additional significant parts in a deal, this deal would be a big win for the White Sox. Cards GM John Mozeliak has previously been quoted as saying "I can assure you, Colby's not going to be traded."
