Not sure i'd want Oh-man as our other lefty reliever besides Sale.

Rumors are they want Jackson and Thornton.

I'd rather do Jackson and CQ.

CQ has been one of the few bright spots offensively. I wouldn't give him up, especially for a guy who's struggled like Rios this year. Jackson and a minor leaguer would suffice for me.

K-Dub in typical denial and dodge fashion today. Says there's no truth to the Rasmus deal "as reported."

Thats the thing. Sale probably moves to the rotation unless they get someone else via trade. So trading Thornton would be kinda dumb. So all we would have left is Ohman, who's not been all that bad btw, but Thornton's are hard to come by.

Mets fans burned me for that opinion.

no way I want Rasmus for one of our SP much less with a Denks or Quentin thrown in NO WAY! NO HOW! NOT IN THIS FREAKIN LIFETIME!

Give me Ohman and 2010 1st rd pick OFer what's his name but no way do I give up the young SS, Viceido or young Danks in this, besides we don't need no freakin OFers we're crowded now and can't bring up Viceido if we bring in some help let it be a Quentin for one of the Braves top SP prospects and if they want to throw in Hayward/Haywood whate3ver then that's ok.

Give me a break Rasmus for our prospects ot SP....I've never in my life.....people must be drinking rotten kool aid

I agree. Quentin has been great this year. No reason to trade him away when he could be a big help down the stretch if we're still in the race.

I completely agree. We can't give up much just because we are down on certain players on our team. We also have to realize that Rasmus has never lived up to his "potential" either... sounds kind of like the center fielder we have now.

That's a bold statement... have you watched him play this year? It's bad, very bad...

That said, I'm don't want the Sox to give up starting pitching, CQ, or Thornton for a guy that has "potential," yet has not lived up to that "potential."

We've seen what "potential" gets us in Rios. Giving up any of the guys you mentioned is a failed experiment waiting to happen.

We gave up nothing for Rios and that's what Rasmus is worth...NOTHING!!!
What has Rasmus done to make you feel he's worth more to us than Rios? Granted Rios got off slow this year but has played better lately and did play well last year. Rios is looked down upon because he had a large contract and wasn't a A-Rod type player but for what he makes now I take him over a Teapileofshit for 10Mil! IMO Rios > Rasmus anytime day or nite!

Neither are that great. They've both had potential but haven't lived up to it. Pretty fair to say that we shouldn't give up much for Rasmus if a deal gets done.

Really good young player, only problem is you have to figure out is where you put him. Ozzie loves Pierre, Rios has a huge contract and CQ....well he might get traded in a different deal.

Larussa again claims Rasmus doesn't listen to coaches via reports on Cards's official site.

I could only imagine the clashes he could have here with Ozzie if that's the case. Lol

It's HORRIBLE that KW has made so many bad trades and signings lately that we missed out on Rasmus in the process because Reinsdorf ordered KW to trim payroll.

In order to do so, he had to package one of his worst mistakes (Teahen) with one of his best assets (EJAX) in a straight salary dump. In the process he took a lowball offer for EJAX.

You can't tell me that the Sox couldn't have packaged EJAX with some shit similar to what Toronto packaged for Rasmus....

This is terrible. :turrible::obama::turrible:

KW is making himself look silly. He was once a capable GM and his recent moves have been HORRIBLE.

After making shrewd moves for Danks and Floyd here are some KW "gems".

Swisher TWICE (the trades to acquire him and then trade him to the Yanks were BOTH HORRIBLE.)
Teahen
Peavy
Rios
Dunn
EJAX TWICE (Trading Hudson for him was bad enough but then trading him to the Jays for nothing and than watching them ship him to StL for Rasmus hurts even worse.)

No question they could've packaged someone with Jackson for Rasmus. But if it was going to be Quentin or Thornton, I would've said no deal.
