So who is in the core for the White Sox. I think that point at the end was the best part of the article.

Is Beckham, Ramirez Phegley core players? What about Viciedo or Garcia (either). Tough questions to answer.

Pretty much, Brett. It is a tough question. No doubt the Sox need to mimic the Blackhawks approach, where you develop a core, and sign the additional pieces to complete the team.

I feel like that's the every good team approach. Not just the Blackhawks approach. They just do it better than everyone else

Sox are in on Jose Abreu. Might be a piece to add with Garcia, Viciedo, Beckham, etc

L. Garcia reeks of the no hit/all field type of infielder.

Will someone here please explain to me what's so special about Gordon Beckham?

As far as I'm concerned, Sale and Garcia are the only two players worth building around.

We held on to some veterans that should have been moved a couple years ago, and one that should never have been acquired to begin with (Adam Done). As a result, it's gonna be some lean years ahead unless we get lucky in the shortterm via draft picks. Sox have zero leverage via free agency or trades.

I'm fine with ending the Beckham experiment.

Semien can either start 2nd or 3rd, and let Keppinger play the other position.

as far as beckham, you are right. He is not very good and is just a guy....not a core piece.

On adam Dunn, well there are more issues with this lineup than adam dunn (who was signed to hit HRs as a team would do when their ball park is ranked near the top in HRs) he is not the problem.

Beckham really showed some brilliance with the bat this season, if only he stayed healthy...

Here are his offensive stats:

.267 BA / 5 HRs / 24 RBI / .322 OBP / 5 stolen bases

Not sure I get what the fuss is about with him. I understand he has a great personality and all that, but that's a downright ugly stat line. What's worse, he regresses every year and his defense is barely average.

He barely hits .230 normally

Beckham is a shit player offensively. Keep Sale, Quintana, Garcia, Reed and Viciedo. Santiago is a fine 3 or 4.

According to Daryl Van Schouwen of the Chicago Sun-Times, the White Sox are planning a hard push this offseason for free agent outfielder Curtis Granderson.
