Mixed feelings about this.

One hand I thought McCann would have been a nice addition, but I guess there really isn't a whole lot of guys out there that can help. Cannot see Cano, Ellsbury, Granderson, Choo, etc really being a great addition, or worth the money.

Didn't Hahn also say that they would try to make move via trades? Probably means Santiago, but maybe Danks (highly unlikely) are out.

Meh. Can't believe everything you read. He's said he's not done adding players. They need a catcher. I expect a big move at that position. There will be trades made especially if we don't land McCann or Salty.

I'm praying we move beckham and Danks to Toronto for a top RHP starter prospect or 2 in some kind of package

We don't need pitching, we need offense. The defense will come around on it's own, not worried there. But our lack of getting guys on, getting them over, and/or getting them in needs to change if we want to be something.

Getting more pitching is normally the ideal but we don;t really suffer there and actually can call it a strength.

And all I'm saying is we need to focus on weaknesses not strengths. Trade Gordon as part of a package for a real hitter or hitting prospect.

We need both. hitting more than pitching but a rotation with Sale,Quintan,Danks and nothing after that really doesnt cut it.

But remember, 2014 is a transitional year. The team's record won't matter, its about evaluating players, and assessing team from that stand point. Rienzo, Johnson, Leesman (when not in the pen), will all get starts just to see how they do.

Johnson, I think, has the best chance to break out in 2014.

I'm pretty stoked in general because I'm excited to see how Avisail, Abreu, do, plus Chris Sale is pretty marketable and the new face of the franchise if Konerko is gone.

People will come around, just have to do it right.
