In order to gain compensation, doesn't the team have to offer arbitration to him and have Quentin decline? I'm not sure if Kenny wants to play chicken with one of his Standford boys. It might be easier for Kenny to deal him.

I don't really understand this trade as I thought the Sox's pitching was okay. It's the offense that's a bit of fail. Wouldn't it be smarter to DFA Pierre, move Quentin to LF, and have Viciedo be your RF?

I think wed rather keep Quentin and Rios is the one wed like to trade, but Rios aint doin shit, Quentin would bring something back.

I like Quentin but someone has to be moved in the outfield.

I understand this as a move for next year, but really it doesn't make any sense for this year. Viciedo only improves the offense if he is replacing a guy like Pierre. Otherwise it is a lateral, at best more than likely, move from Quentin to Viciedo, and you add another SP to a pretty talented 6 man rotation. Don't see how that makes this team better this season.

Next year it makes a lot of sense because you can let Edwin Jackson walk and have a very nice cost efficient replacement lined up, but I don't see why the Sox pull the trigger on this deal when they are all in.

Perfect sense for this year Quentins been good, but the OF is full. I know Quentin was mashing when no one else was producing, but right now hes been kinda cold. Did he make the all star team? Id like to keep em, but its not like we can trade Rios.

some curious on 670 today thought that CQ being held out of the lineup today, that there may be something going on. We shall see. I would love another arm because as we all know EJAX and MB are FAs, and Peavy cant be trusted.
