Cue Variables concussion/fighting related rant in 3...2...1...

First post after news like this about a guy like Mikita and all you see is an opportunity for this stupid bullshit again? Saying a hell of a lot more about you than it is me. Time to start growing up maybe?

On a serious note, my grandmother had dementia before she died, I know just how horrible it is to watch them go through that. Best wishes to him and his family.

did your grandmother play physical sports? because that would explain a lot

at least now Stan won't remember Bobby beating his wives half to death

Actually, using deductive reasoning made this a logical and fair post:

Mikita early in his career was known as a chippy feisty player.

He played at the beginning of his career without a helmet.

He was known to fight early in his career without a helmet.

You've mentioned numerous times the dangers of playing without a helmet and how the players "didn't" know any better.

You've mentioned numerous times you dislike fighting in hockey.

You've mentioned numerous times the dangers of fighting in regards to what we "now know via science"

So, I came to his conclusion by looking at A+B=C.

None of that applies to this. All you had to do was look up what he's suffering from. That's all you had to do. LDB affects something like a million and a half people, it's not really a rare form of brain disease, there's no connection to it from playing physical sports that's been found. Has no bearing on it, this isn't like CTE. If anything it's age associated and occurs and develops mostly in people from 50 to 85 and the onset and progression of the disease happens relatively quickly once they have it. Takes like two minutes to find that info.

But nope, you didn't do that. You see a post about Stan Mikita seriously ill and the first thing that you need to do, the first thing comes to mind is that this is a good chance for you to post a fucking stupid childish jab. I'm surprised you didn't thank Stan for giving you this opportunity.

Look, our differing opinions and views on the game of hockey have absolutely nothing to do with this. Maybe eventually you can learn to set those differences aside when they have absolutely no bearing on a topic. Or not.

The post subjected with "Diagnosed with suspected dementia" pretty much lays out possible link with CTE which has been proven from TBI (traumatic brain injury) to increase dementia 2-4 fold.

Do I agree with you and feel bad for Stan? Yes I'm not a monster and fall happy when people have the worst happen to them. Stan actually is a wonderful guy, especially for the deaf community who he would hold a youth hockey camp for in the summers. I was able to play against one of the "deaf" teams about 10 summers back and meet Stan. Helluva a guy. He was the opposite of Bobby Hull and who people should be more happy to see as a Chicago Sports Legend.

Knowing how you like to take any single thing you can in your quest to remove fighting and forcing players to wear visors, I figured it was the next logical step in your agenda since you always talk about the old times and how players didn't know any better. Shame on me for pointing out something you would typically jump on and adding sarcasm to it. Shame on me for responding first, next time I'll leave it for the 2nd page.

Either way, bad news for Stan and his family and hopefully he can still enjoy his remaining time on the planet and get the recognition he deserves instead of the wife beater Bobby Hull.

But again all you need is an even simple understanding of what each disease is. People who suffer from CTE, particularly athletes, have these sort of problems rear their head before they live a full life like Mikita has. They typically start having these sort of problems, which only get worse at time goes on, in their 40s, 50s sometimes earlier.

But sorry for thinking that things need to be addressed when I see things like a retired Chicago sports star take a fucking shotgun shell to his chest so that doctors could still see whether or not if he CTE like he suspected.

Who the hell said you couldn't address it? My point was dementia can correlate to CTE which the topic of the post said "dementia" only, and you use CTE as one of your anti-fighting agendas, so my quip was you would be chiming in about it.

I don't even know why I bother with responding or explaining myself to you as you take the posts to completely different levels than their basic meaning and make it seem like it's you versus the world in every topic.

Then I guess you're just too edgy for me bro. Good luck on your next "quip" when he dies, hopefully it's better than this one was.
