[Gustavus Adolphus]

@nvanprooyen This is my all-time favorite bit. It's quintessential Carlin: taking everyday, mundane things and pointing out the ridiculousness in it. For lack of a better term, his cadence as he goes through this is simply awesome. It's also a non-angry Carlin, and there isn't much cursing in it. Not that I'm some prude about the cursing or the anger, because I love it, but this is just another side of Carlin that is awesome.

I know but that last one and the whole series of the really bad ones a few years back had me laughing more than a lot of standard standup, I had to include him.

Tldr, his bad standup is funnier than most standup to me lately.

Interesting. What don't you like about "new" Dave Chappelle?

I thought his last stand up was not comedy. It was dark and needed to be said but he didn't say anything funny. I am rewatching Chapelles show on netflix and the guy is hilarious. It was over the top then and still hits today. But his new stand-up is not funny. I get it that he has a message to deliver and is using his platform for that. But i clicked on it intending to laugh. Sorta like tuning into the Bears hoping for competitive football. Disappointing.


And Old Katt Williams was great. Then he got weird and paranoid. Also, try and watch one of his specials on regular tv where they bleep out his use of the N word with a soft A. You can't. It's that many N words.
