The only thing that can derail the Hawks is if Crawford ODs and plays in a stupor. There are too many great veteran leaders on this team to be over-confident going in. If they win the first game, they very well could sweep the series.

Well what you suggested sounds pretty absurd to me, so ... good news everyone! We've got nothing to worry about!

There was no nervous excitement for the first cup run for me

I don't think I've ever said this to you before, Clyde, but I think you're completely full of shit here.

Not once? Not even after Hossa took a boarding penalty late in the third period of Game 5 while the Hawks were trailing? I don't believe that.

I was pretty nervous heading into 2013, not so much now

I have full confidence in this team that they will finish out the series. I think it goes 5 games

At least you see that The Hawk is an idiot as well.

I'm thinking 5 or 6. Seven feels like too many, four not quite enough.

And as I've said before, I really hope that they win it in 6 so that the Cup gets hoisted on home ice.

Playoffs and during the cup time was totally different. He's talking about the final, not the whole playoff run.

I found more nervousness in the Bastan series as I still kinda liked the team and feared that team far more. The Hawks making the final was what I expected in 2010 but I wasn't set they were gonna win it, but when that Flyers team was the matchup, it wasn't much of a nervous thrill going into the series. I remember being at a Demo Derby as game 1 was going on and occasionally hearing the score announcing up and down bouncing around and not doubting they'd make it last and win it.

Ahhh yeah I see what you're saying. That Boston team was pretty scary, with monsters like Lucic and Chara in the lineup. I think most of my fears involving Philly were dissolved when the Hawks lit up their goalies for 6 in Game 1. Had the feeling the Hawks could win that series by simply outscoring the Flyers.

Today feels like any other Blackhawks game day to me. Must be the #steamcake factor.
