I'm here and who in the right mind will make this trade. I know Hanley is good and could be one of the bets players in the league but he does not try and hustle. And, I do not like him beause of that. Jackson could be a good 2-3 starter in the league and Castro will be good for a long time.
You really wouldn't do this deal from a Cubs perspective? If so, you're even more stupid than I thought. Hanleys hit a historic point in his career. He's doing thigns at this age that very, very, VERY few SS's have done at this point in their careers. When all is said and done, Hanley may be the greatest offensive SS of all time, and definitely top 3.
I know you Cubs fans have a hard-on for Castro, but come on, you would be absolutely out of your mind to not take this deal. From 2007-2009, he just averaged a measly 195 H, 117 R, 41 2B, 29 HR, 85 RBI, 38 SB, 68 BB, a .325/.398/.549 line and a 145 OPS+ hitting mostly leadoff, in his age 23-25 seasons. This year, he's having his worst year, and he is still doing really well.
Paid too much?! You think 11, 15, 15.5, and 16 mil for a legendary bat at a premium position with much improved defense is too much?
:smh:
Only Cub fans...
