That's about 20% of what we gave up for Garza, so....good luck with that!

Wasn't 20% It was a SS that was fringe 100 and a SP that was fringe 100 prospects. A RF that was not. A AAAA that was not and a catcher who was not for Garza and a toss in.

That is not 20% at all.

The deal would have to match up with what KC had to give up for Shields though as Garza was a step below those 2.

BTW I would be happy giving up either Almora or Soler. But I doubt Theo would trade out what he has been acquiring.

Baez may have been doable before this year (not their pick) but he is untouchable after hitting 37 HR's this early in his development.

Rays don't want a prospect on the hook for $27 million . No way in hell they touch Soler unless the Cubs pay it all

They were fringe at the time. Not anymore. Lee is one the Rays top guys and Archer was terrific this season for the Rays and will replace Price when the time comes.

What does 2014 have to do with a 2010 trade. What their value in 2014 matters little to what their value was at the point of the trade.

On the players Lee is a SS. We have Castro and Baez issues going on. Lee would just complicate it more.

SP Garza gave 2 solid years here. Archer still is not established yet. 23 starts is the same boat Wood was going into this year. Wood stepped up and established himself Archer still has to do that.

It is not the money as it is spread out over years that is the catch. The problem is his clause after arb1 where he can opt out of his deal and go into arb.
