8 months ago some here were saying the stock market was going to fail and that disaster was around the corner. 8 months later, the 8 year bull market continues and my portfolio is up 20% in that time.

Even if the market does pull back, it will only be temporary. So, if you have been sitting on the sidelines you have missed the best investment opportunity.

It will have some impact but not huge. The real issue here is that the economy is now growing at 3% and corporate earnings are great. In the end, those are the 2 factors that drive the market. Tax plan is secondary

Sold a property recently but I'm hesitant to invest the profit in the stock market. Thinking about gold and silver.

Why?
The market doesn’t lose over time.
Age and need dependent of course.
I max the tax deferral limit every year.
But I have a pension so don’t need my 401.
It’s for world travel later... and the wife/kids.

The market is at an all time high. I'm 61. Don't have time to whether the ups and downs. I used to be a gold and silver miner back in the day. I remember selling a 5 gallon bucket of ore for $10,000. That was 70's dollars. Guess it's in my blood.

You know there are municipal bond funds that give a fixed rate and no fed tax you can put your money in. You won’t make a killing but it’s generally safe and you get an income from it. Top of my head I believe smllx is one check it out might have wrong ticker symbol for that one

Bubble burst is meaningless because the stock market eventually goes up and exceeds all previous levels. Duh

Price earnings ratios actually are the highest they've been ever except for 2007.

Similar to 1929 and 2001 levels currently.

About double the mean. So we need to double our earnings or this is a new normal, or there will be a correction.

The issue is that a lot of people that didn't retire because their 401k's popped in 2008 are now retiring/retired. Most cannot handle a 50% downswing and stay retired.

The millennials are in a much different position than the boomers in terms of timeline. That makes a huge difference.
