Post your most entertaining moderating stories here, unless you're Urblock.

I was once a mod at CBMB and this fucktard kept claiming to be an IRL doctor.

Like he said he was a medical doctor.... his username was Ole69.

He wouldn't stop, even though we all knew he was lying.

So I entrusted one of our best posters on the site to track him down IRL, I won't divulge my CBMB operatives, but this guy was the precursor to your modern-day fisch.

Anyways said operative staked out Ole69 from his Ford Pinto and eventually murdered him.

It was tremendously sad.

I didn't feel bad though.

Honestly don't remember on CBMB was a long time ago. Here I think someone PMed me (maybe Rush, can't remember) when the forums merged because I was a mod over there and knew most of you guys. I just did it for the hell of it because I was spending a lot of time here anyway.

I did get some cool stuff though as a thank you gift from the Bears organization when that forum shut down. One thing was a really nice polo that I still wear all the time to this day. I probably have a thank you card floating around here somewhere too with my other memorabilia.

I always had the suspicion that Virginia was "the web team"

maybe it was nfcnb

He wasn't nearly that bad back then. Partially because CBMB was a very sanitized environment. And likely partially because racist assholes weren't emboldened to the level that they are now.

that's true. I guess the main mod calling people 'demoncrats' and banning the wrong people when high was as bad as it got

I remember when the CBMB people descended upon CCS, it was like a prison break had taken place. What an awful time that was. Our nice little forum of Hillary voters became overrun by Trump supporters.

One of the things that made it so bad was the fact that the CBMB was very heavily moderated. So when people got here, there was literally years of pent up aggression between many posters...and with the lax rules CCS had, a prison break is a pretty apt analogy. A total free for all for a few months especially until people calmed the **** down.

Why I became a mod....

I agreed with Rush's original and current vision for how the forum should be ran, and I wanted to help see it through, I guess.

Plus, before I ever got to CCS, I was an admin on another forum, and it was ran almost exactly like CCS, which I loved. That's why I stuck around here. It was different there in the sense that we did community bannings... everything else was the same.

the hell you say

I had a different name there. When someone complained he said my humor was sophisticated and almost British which makes sense since I was a big Monty Python fan. Monty Python wouldn't be allowed today. Also like Benny Hill.

You do understand that his conception of Britishness probably came from Imperial Officers in Star Wars?
