There was discussion in another thread that was going off topic so I

thought it would be interesting to hear of the travels this summer now

that our Stanley Cup experience is over.

4th of July means a trip to Hayward, Wi.

Mid August means a trip to the Black Hills and the Sturgis Bike Rally.

I havent gone on a vacation since I was 17. I was in the army and college since then, and that really didnt permit it, now the nature of my job kind of prevents me from going on vacations, I mean I can take time off, but really I have to be available, and my vacation can turn into me having to work from my vacation destination. I mean I can go but I dont really want to spend money on a vacation I might not even get to enjoy.

Going from my Bed to the Toilet to the couch in all of a day.

Appleton, MN for a family reunion. This is three hours west of the twin cities near the bump on the western boarder of the state that juts into the northeast corner of South Dakota.

We're heading out to Manitou Springs, CO in mid August where I'll run the Pikes Peak Ascent & Marathon. Then heading further West to Ouray to (GULP!) get married somewhere in the surrounding mountains, either on top of Imogene Pass or on Oh! Point on Engineer Mountain. After the nuptials we'll head back into town to relax on the balcony of our room which has a naturally fed hot springs tub. Throw in some off roading on some of the gnarliest trails in America, the aforementioned Imogene and Engineer passes along with Black Bear Pass, (hello switchbacks!) and we'll be more than ready to catch the California Zephyr through Glennwood Canyon and back home.

Phew! We may need a vacation from our vacation.

Your "vacation" sounds like waaaaay too much.

I'll be heading to the Phoenix area to chill (although from what I hear, there is no coolness that time of year) the first week in August. Buddy's mother has a timeshare. My only plans are to relax, maybe read a little and hit up the Heart Attack Grill at least once.

Be sure to check out the Rooster Restaurant (don't recall actual name) that is on top of the hill. I believe on the west side off Baseline Rd.

Just returned from a 2 week trip to Panama.

Plan a couple short weekend trips during the summer to Austin and maybe Galveston or South Padre Island
