I agree I think he had a nice first draft, but I still want to see Kevin White.

My disappointment is not with the pick, but with not getting to see what he is.

I'd love for him to get some gametime this year even if it's only 2/3/4 games. It will be much needed help for next year.

I'll even go a step further... Shea has not only been the shiinest turd in the ILB category, he has also been a shinny turd on a crap laden D.

When you're comparing him to underperforming turds like Houston, Fuller, Ratliff, Ferguson, McMannis, and Young (not to mentione Allen and Bostic), A person could unwittingly forget that he is still a turd.

He's not a solid ILB. He's not even a "decent". He's cosistently plowed over, late to the hole, and downright pathetic in pass coverage.

His tackle numbers largely reflect 2 things: 1) His propensity to get there late and jump on the pile. and 2) the fact that he is targeted as a weak player in pass coverage relentlessly.

Hahaha damn that was a lot of dumb i just read. I'm definitely feeling a little dumber now then before i read this. Hahaha

See... ANd when I watch him, I see a back-up worthy, relatively mediocre, LB who can't play pass coverage at all, is repeatedly targeted as a weak point, hits the hole late, and is repeatedly trucked and dragged.

But, then again, I am looking for a talented team that wins - while some of you are just happy when one guy on the team doesn't suck as much as the other guys around him.

Actually his pass coverage isn't that bad. Are you sure you've been watching the games? We're talking about the Chicago Bears and they are a team in the NFL which stands for National Football League. I have more info if you need it??

The guy ran a grand total of 3 or 4 routes from one side of the line in his one decent year in college in a non-pro set.

He missed the entirety of camp, all of pre-season, and hasn't practiced with the team yet.

He got a non-contact leg fracture BEFORE he ran a single practice route with the team team drafted him, indicating he probably over-stressed it prepping to put up non-sustainable numbers at the combine.

He hasn't caught a single pass from Cutler (or Clausen) in an official practice.

At some point, reality has to take over. He's probably not gonna play this year...

I have no problem with your view of him. I am just giving my opinion.

I think he is better than "kinda crappy" I think he is kinda good. To each their own.

And i say route damn it.

None of us are saying he's been great. All we're saying is he's been better playing at ILB and he's been doing his job there. He hasn't flashed or made big plays but he makes his tackles and his motor doesn't stop.

what gave it away?

His zero pass defended numbers?

his zero INT's?

Or the fact that every QB he's faced has targeted him?

Hard to believe anything you read could make you dumber. That's like saying you can get colder than absolute zero.

In fact, hard to believe you can actually read.

My life wants to see a winning Bears team and I know crappy players don't help that.

Why do you like losing?

Whites ceiling to me looks like a middling #2. Somewhere between what Hankerson is now on the Falcons, and what White once was. He doesn't have the skills, or talent, to be a #1. We better keep Jeffery is all I am saying. White could be a helluva a compliment, and like you say, make that a good draft.

This has to be one of the worst evaluation of Kevin White ever. The kid is faster, stronger and bigger than Cooper. Obviously Cooper came with an NFL ready route tree which White didn't but White's ceiling is just as high.

If Kevin White can turn into what Roddy White "once was" it will be a home run pick. You realize he caught over 80 balls 7 times and had over 1000 yards in 6 of those seasons right?

You gotta love dreamers...

I hope he dominates the NFL for the next 10 years.

Reality tells me he will be lucky to be in the top 30.

Meanwhile, the guy we cut is top 7 ish

McCellin is solid.

He gets the defense lined up, makes decent run reads and makes tackles. He does not make impact plays or change the game like McPhee.

He is a solid LB, he could easily be replaced, but right now he is the best that they have.

His true value is in making the plays, adjustments and getting the defense lined up every play.

My guess is the Bears will upgrade at ILB, and McClellin will still start beside that player.

Let's see what happens with Brandon Marshall and the draft before we anoint McClellin the starter for next year.
