One of my best friends was just diagnosed with it. I am not supposed to know until he is ready to tell me. I golfed yesterday whose wife is terminal with it. Worked with him for five or so years.

I HATE CANCER. I think that eventually gene manipulation will pretty much eradicate it but not in my lifetime

No it's usually kids... cuts and crap. As adult players I think it's fine, but until otherwise they should see what results it has on kids.

Yeah that's what gets me. Thought it was good to know if your kids particularly play soccer....but apparently everything gets you sick. I am a parent and it is a concern if that crap gets into their bodies thru eyes, mouth and cuts.

If the numbers are as stated in the piece with a large deviation towards players that have contact with the material, it should be a concern. TJ you are better than that. This isn't Sparty vaccination type paranoia. There was a time when they thought lead in paint and asbestos as a fire retardant were a good thing. And Peggers, there is a difference between the rubber of your cleat that actually never touches your skin and the atomized particles created from crushing the used tires into pebbles.

I tend to look at these things with a skeptics eye, but there is some compelling arguments.

I have been battling it for 12 years I am in remission now thank the lord. I hope the best for your friends and I hope your right too.

It's different when these kids that might be more susceptible practice and play on it every day vs adults once a week. It may be coincidence or not but certainly worth a look. That said, I'd prefer it in Soldier Field.

I saw this VICE episode awhile back where they are manipulating HIV and a couple of other nasty viruses to be able to go after cancer. I think they said it should be sooner rather than later before it becomes widely used. What do i know, but it's very cool/promising, so there's hope yet.
