He deserved it. He'll IMO make a solid 6th man for the Bulls.

I really wanted Taj Gibson and I'm happy we got him. Also wanted DeJuan Blair... wish we picked him instead of James Johnson...

I understand why people rip on James Johnson, but I really think he can be a good player. He's got the skill, he just has to unleash it. I also like his defense a lot, if he's trying, he can do it.

I like JJ too. Del Negro is at fault too, for not playing him enough. When Thomas was injured with his broken arm, that would have been the perfect time to play JJ. Instead Del Negro just decided to play Noah, Gibson, Deng, and Miller heavier minutes, and we all saw how they had injuries later in the year. It's not like the team was winning, because they weren't

JJ plays good defense? Because every time he plays, all i see is him fouling people with the occasional block. I wanted us to draft JJ...not so sure anymore.

I also really wanted Blair and i would take him over Taj to this day but congrats to Taj. Funny how its 1PF and 4Gs

How could you possibly justify taking Blair over Taj after this season?

Taj starts and gets almost 30 minutes a game. Blair comes off the bench for 18. Ive seen enough from both of them to know whos better. Taj had a nice stretch a couple months ago but hes overvalued by the Bulls fan base.

I also agree that Blair > Gibson. But we'll see if it stays that way.

Didn't the Bulls recently trade away one of those guys that "has the talent" but "just needs to unleash it" but never really did? What was his name....I think they might have traded LaMarcus Aldridge for him....

Yeah, what's that have anything to do with what I just said though? Tyrus had some attitude, he was my favorite Bull, but in the end he didn't fit in with us.

My point is that perhaps those "just needs to figure it out" type of guys aren't the best to be fawning over and acquiring, whether through trade, free agency or the draft, because we see what can happen when they don't figure it out.

True, but if no one had those kind of guys, the players who will eventually be good, wouldn't get a chance.

But taking shots in the dark probably isn't the best way for a team like the Bulls to get out of basketball hell. The problem with those "super-high ceiling" type of players is that usually they are pretty awful all-around players until they "realize" that talent. IF that talent comes to fruition, that's great, but waiting for a crap player to come around probably isn't the best way to built a perennial championship contender.

Its all basketball IQ and guys like Tyrus dont have it. Whether JJ does has yet to be seen. Next year should give us a better idea.

That's true, but from what I've seen he has the same lack of IQ that TT suffered from. He's awful.

Defensively Thomas was definitely smarter but offensively they both are damn near brain dead.

Its the most undervalued aspect of a prospects game. If only they all were as smart as the Kevin Loves of the NBA.
