What an exciting time to be alive, Torpedo Bats are giving hitters an edge to become more competitive after how far pitching has come. I've heard it's causing some bitterness in some circles but I think it's great for the sport.

I guess there's really two camps, those that want to see the sport progress and have pitching and hitting more fairly balanced, and those that have TBDs (torpedo bat derangement syndrome)

What are your thoughts on torpedo bats?

I haven't read details yet, only some headlines/pic captions. But for all the knee jerk reactions to the Yankees "cheating", it seems that a) not all the Yankees who have been hitting homers-most specifically Aaron Judge - have used the bats, and b) several other teams have used them as well.

I heard the Cubs have them, but can't say who has or has not used them.

I would only say at this early juncture, anyone calling for them to be banned may be reacting too quickly.

It will be interesting to follow this, however.

EDIT: They're discussing them right now on the Cubs broadcast and showed Nico Hoerner using one.

It pisses me off that they stole what I call my dick for the name of this thing.

I got your "Torpedo Bat" right here!!!

I like the idea, I've always been a data nerd and now this is taking full advantage of human potential into a sport.

2019 was a juiced ball and they banned it the next. Now the new knee jerk is the torpedo bat.

This will end up as a ban if the numbers get inflated like 2019. You have to look at what MLB does after a spike happens.

I take it as balanced playing. Not take away substance from pitching then add a new design bat that inflates.

Yeah I see this as a good way to balance the scales that drastically titled towards pitching the last decade or so. The great thing about sports are the constant adjustments people make now because of data.
