Teacher Arrested After She Had Sex With 5 Students

Worth her getting fired? Yes, I can see that if students went to that school.



A bit disturbing? It is for me, but I have found the internet has made me go from a man of fun and comfortable kink to a complete prude in relation...



Disgusting to do with children and a terrible wife? Yeeeah, no question there...



But charges?! Really? Everyone is over the age of 18 and I am assuming everyone was consensual. And Texas it is illegal for a teacher to have sex with a student regardless of age?! Like that is not completely open ended? So if I decide to take a college class at a school where a chick I may be hangin with teaches, I am gonna be charged?



Really, while fricking crazy disturbing and sad, is this worth of court time?

The law has only been on the books since 2003 and only applys if students are 17-18 YO, despite age of consent being 17. I'm only aware of 2 other cases. In one the grand jury chose not to prosecute the female teacher and charges were dismissed. The second is still in process and is probably not going to result in prosecution either as the male teacher and student are engaged to be married with the support of the student's family(applying for the marriage license is actually what triggered the arrest). If it was consensual, the students were 18, I doubt she gets more than probation and will probably be able to teach again at some point, somewhere. I'd also be surprised if this law is not amended in the near future.

If it was a male teacher and 5 students that were all female (or male, doesnt matter), it doesnt change the fact that consenting adults decided to partake in an act that is not illegal. It wasnt on school grounds, it was in private ownership.



Now, if there was someone forced to partake? If the students were 14? Oh yeah, get that court crap moving.



If this is against the school policy as a place of employment, sure fire her. I am pretty sure that if I had 5 women and caught at my place of work, well I would be a legend, but fired. My work would have no case to file criminal charges.



This reamins a case brought up on consenting adults partaking in activities that are not illegal. In fact, I think I am now more bothered about the fact that IS considered a case. What law is broken?

The original author has been a vocal supporter of those being prosecuted under the law and is pushing for it to be amended.

While I may be more apt to agree with you if the teach met the students when they were 18, I think this is slightly different as she has possibly been a person of power and influence over these children as young as 14 years. We don't know a lot of the up close and personal and for all we know she's been preying on these kids for years. Is that likely to be the case here no, but what if it was a teacher who has been predatory mind fucking a child since they were 14 and then bam, they turn 18 and the teacher runs off with that kid. This is probably the true nature of the law and I'd be more supportive of it in this case. Kids are dumb, and teachers are in a position of power and influence. To this day powerful people credit their teachers as making them who they are, I think it can unfortunately work the other way. I'm not saying that in this particular case this is going to go down right. But she's still a fucking numbnut nutjob who needs to be taken down hard as an example. TEACHERS AND STUDENTS SHOULD NOT MIX. EVER. (unless you are banging your professor in college)
