If anyone thinks that these young kids aren't going to examine their 2 strike approach and runners on approach and makes some changes, I have a bridge for sale.

They can examine it all they want, and I am not saying that they won't, but it is extremely foolish to think that they will all successfully do it. It is very hard to take the aggressiveness out of power hitters hands and change things. If it were that easy, Adam Dunn, Ryan Howard, Alfonso Soriano, and Chris Davis to name a few, would have changed there two strike approach.

The whole premise is to make the Cubs a better team overall. Now, even if you fix some swing issues and change the approach, that still leaves defensive, lead-off, and pitching issues too that have to be addressed, and sometimes, you can give up in one area, and strengthen it in other areas.

Defensive issues? Holy shit. They only won 97 games with that bad defense. As for your comment about plate approach, that's plain silly to think that rookies aren't going to make adjustments to season two.

Holy shit. The Cardinals won 100 games without Wainright. I guess we can just pencil them in for the division and 115 games won next year, right?

So you are saying the Cubs were strong defensively in the outfield with Schwarber, Fowler, and Soler? Got it.

And did I say they couldn't make adjustments with the bats? Nope! Sure didn't. I said that not all players can adjust.

I guess Castro made adjustments at the plate being patient, didn't he? How did that work out for him?

Hey! Maybe they can teach Rizzo to take the ball to the left side of the field consistently against the shift since it is just an adjustment.

Haha, I agree Parade, go figure.... why are we judging the Cubs "rookies" on veteran stats??? heck, the Cubs were one of the best teams THIS year at making pitchers throw strikes! Why judge them on a 2 strike count??????

To say that the Cubs have to have a major overhaul of the roster cuz of 2 strike counts is a little, well, whatever..... any true Cubs fan should want a little more speed and defense on the team. I just don't understand wanting more pitch watching....

Some things never change I guess ....

You could even go 30 million per for 6 for both. I dunno, maybe I read too much into my nightmares.

That's why you are my favorite Sox fan, you actually have CubMares going forward. Every Sox fan in my family and friend circles are convinced the Cubs will revert back to a 65-70 win team and are the most overrated team in MLB history.

Unfortunately the rule 5 draft pretty much forces talent laden teams like us to trade people away. Going about it without trades just means we lose assets for nothing.

What does this mean for him going forward?

It was to keep him out of rule 5. The Cubs also put Pierce Johnson, Candelario, and Contreras on the 40 man. Interesting the Cubs left off Corey Black who was the pitcher in the Soriano trade.

All it means its the Cubs protected themselves from losing him for nothing. He will be in AAA this year at 23. So, I would expect him in a trade soon. I love his bat but he has absolutely no where to play for the Cubs.

He seemed to lose power as he lost weight. His hitting skills are up with Schwarber's.
