There really was no excuse for that horrible 3rd period by the Hawks. Blues should not have been out skating the Hawks like that after playing the night before. Was the Blues physical game getting to the Hawks by the 3rd period? Maybe. If not for Craw the Blues would have came back in that game. Like I said before I can't handle another season of 3rd period collapses. How does a team look like world beaters for one period..turn to decent in the second then nearly crumble in the 3rd?

I know the wins the most important thing and trust me I am thrilled that the team is 3-0 right now and just beat a very good Blues team. Lots of hockey still but I just get frightened that we will see things like we saw last year...3rd period bed shitting...it makes me nervous.

I don't want to sound like Eddie O either because there were a lot of positives in the game of course. Just don't scare me like that please!!!

I agree about the 3rd, but overall I thought the Hawks did a good job of negating/avoiding the physical game of the Blews. At last for the first two periods they mostly played "their game".

Def did a great job of staying out of the box. Hawks were great at discipline play all game.

Eddie O pissed me off on Stalbergs goal. Guy makes a great shot between a Blues players legs and all Eddie O can talk about is how poorly the Blues player (I think it was Perron cant remember) misplayed his stick. **** sakes Eddie O I never remember you shooting pucks between the oppositions legs one on one like Stalberg did. Jealous? Had to ***** about the Blues player instead of giving Stalberg some credit?

Hehe, true dat. I loved the backchecking by the forwards the first two periods. They were really taking it to them.

It was Stewart. Professor O and his lame tutorials for the kids.

The Hawks had the legs under them in the first half of the game and were able to chip pucks past the blues to get out manned rushes. They continued to try to chip pucks by but could never regain control of it in the second half. The blues turned those 'non-passes' back into our zone and established the forecheck. Just damn sloppy passing towards the end, very lucky that Crawford made some key saves late.

I did enjoy the fast early pace

We could've had 5 or 6 goals. Elliot kept it from being a blowout early on. Game shouldn't have been close at the end.

Any team with a 3-0 lead is going to start sitting back while the other team starts pressing/carrying the play. It's going to happen

And without being able to practice all year, it's even going to look sloppy at times.

Craw made the saves he needed to make. Hawks win again. Q has his team to a 3-0 start and are carrying the play.

It's amazing when there's not the roster turnover and players are allowed to develop.

I didn't see the third period being as bad as many of you guys are stating. Yes, it wasn't like the first two periods, but there were times, especially late in the third when we were still pushing the puck forward and eating time in their end even behind their net. Loving the 3-0 start, and it is hard to believe we haven't done that for 40 years.....

The hawks just don't seem as hungover as the other teams so far this year... I'll thank Captain serious and his offseason workout, and the genius's who went overseas....

Kanerrrrrr!

I am truly surprised how well conditioned Hossa is this early in the season. May be playing best hockey as a Hawk right now.

Obviously it's my gut feeling and nothing else, because he's always been a man of conditioning, but I think the concussion last year forced him to go a bit overboard on getting back in shape healthy and ready to go because he had to make more than sure he could play at a top level because of the concussion... just my thoughts.

Hossa is easily in the top 10 for sheer volume of hockey played over the last five seasons. I think maybe the delayed season helped him recharge, recover, and get ready. The guy was in the SCF what, three years in a row? Add to that the olympics the one year and the shortened offseasons? That's a ton of hockey.

Yeah, definitely think the extended summer has helped in this regard. Hopefully he still gets a full regular season of games this year... hah. or at least 48 + 16 wins...
