And which is it by the way? The center depth sucks ass, is acceptable or good enough to win a cup. I'll go with the latter. So unless you think it sucks ass I guess what I wrote was pretty damn smart.

I don't believe the Hawks can win the Stanley Cup unless there is some stability on the top two lines.

It will get figured out over the course of the season.

Short of a trade, I'm guessing that #10 will be the man in the middle, whether he likes it or not.

Getting back to last night's game discussion I really enjoyed seeing hammer paste Robidas. I hope we see the Hammer of 2-3 season's ago with some good hard checks on the boards or open ice. I miss that part of his game.

I competey disagree. I think the team that played last night can win the Cup. Guess what, 88 was at Center.

Don't tell that kid he can't do something. He'll prove you the idiot by doing it.

I also think the key is the 3rd line. Top two lines will produce no matter #10 or #88 at Center. Line #3 plays the leagues top lines. In that #36 is one of the best at doing it.

with 7 minutes left in the 2nd period the Hawks had given up a total of 4 shots. Now that's impressive.

Agree. He is going to own that role/position by the end of the season. I'll bet he's on a point a game scoring for the season, and if he stays with Hossa is top 5 in assists.

The only thing I'm not completely in love with is the physical part of it, but I guess I need to adjust my expectations. Still I laugh and cringe every time he checks someone

he checked someone right in front of us last night. "Did Kaner just hit someone"?

I would prefer him at RW, and that's because you don't **** with one of the top 3 RW's in the entire NHL and move him to Center. But now it's more of a "I want to prove I can do it". And to be honest he's not been bad.

While I agree with Jim that's our least populous spot in depth, it far from sucks ass. Always taking it to the extreme.

My assessments from last evening:

Sharp had a good night on the score sheet, but if that's what we get with him recovering-- it will be nice with him at 100%, which should be very soon. He looked like he was almost there last night.

Frolik was all over the ice last night. He was out-skating and the puck kept finding him.

Hawks looked good in the dots again last night. Toews was 11-9, Bolland 12-6, Kreuger 2-2, and Kane was 2-4 (I thought Kane would fare better at home).

John Scott... well, is what he is. A pylon that's on the ice for 3 minutes. Lucky the benching of Scott and the shortening of the bench didn't affect the outcome of the game in a negative light, or I think we'd be discussing Q's decision to dress him more.

Dvorak tries to check Seabrook, and he shrugs him off like a fly. I also like Q running with Mayers in the last minute to assure that no Ott/Burish dim wittery takes place.

Regardless, the Hawks came out and dominated the Stars. Their back checking kept the shot total to 2 in the first and 7 in the second. It was nice to see the evolution that took place between friday to saturday.

[edit] Hossa also was all over the place, and got in a couple of nice hits.

I don't really think they played much different last night than they did Friday night. Friday night was a hot goalie and no bounces. Then musical lines.

Yeah, but the addition of Bolland was nice to see.

Was very nice to see Frolik toss up the puck to Bolly for the EN. That line was very good IMO.

Brunette standing in front of the net they score a goal. That's why they signed him and last night it payed off netting the first tally, which is always big at home.

Brunette's PP goal was a perfect example of that. Bolly being in the line-up makes the Hawks a much better team, too.

Barring an injury, Bickell/Bolland/Frolik should not be split up. Just give that line more icetime if necessary.

man you aren't kidding. bickell actually finishing checks. i can't quite figure out why i'm so big on frolik this year but he is really skating well. a few more games and this line will come together nicely.

i still can't find why sharp got that 10?

and for all of your amusement, the guy i sat by last night actually said and meant "we now have a double power-play". aka 2 man advantage aka hawks not about to score. ****. i've been to quite a few hockey games and i have never heard that before. same guy started the ol' "lets go black-hawks" chant too.

Sharp wasn't sure why 10 min. Ref said "you're causing me problems you're out" . He was miffed

That's what I saw about Sharp's 10 last night

I guess it is better than having only 5000 who get the chant right.

Yeah I heard it during the broadcast last night. I wasn't sure who was saying it, but funny, yes.
