The Chicago press pool will not query Coach Hashpipe. He has two 'Cups after all.

Playing Brookbank at forward is inexplicably stupid, but I've seen that move from Quenneville.

Hard to ***** when your team has 2 cups in 4 years and are currently tied with the 2nd best point total in the NHL at 12-2-4....

I suppose if they were 4-12-2 you might have reason..

Just wait until this team starts losing again.

I mean really losing, just not a 4 game skid.

May take years, but it's going to happen. The Hawks could have a Flyers meltdown.

Icing 7 d-men when other options are available are strange, but this team has the fire power to get through that. The Sharks are coming back to earth due to injuries to their top line, so the Blues (when not playing the Jets) and the Ducks are the only teams that are concerning. No one in the East looks like they want a Cup anytime soon, so the real task is to win the West, because any team coming from that conference will roll anyone from the East.

did brooks get dressed in case Hammer wasnt up to task...? So we had a defensive wingman on the 4th line as security, whatever. Piss moan.

Luckily Hammer played another great game and doesnt look to need a rest. After these few days off gonna have a tight sched until december.

also, Morin is young, even if not playing poorly, why not sit him just so he continually critiques and works hard on his game rather than just handing it to him so easily? Obviously isn't too big a deal if we keep winning despite OMG not playing the rookie. Like BP said, sharks as usual are coming down to earth, isnt the awesome thing about our team that we are modest...? Theres no coming down to earth cuz we're never floating upward with ballooning heads. Keep the kid honest and working hard.

And here's an FYI: This is a fucking discussion forum.

We discuss the team.

Questioning why Quenneville is playing or not playing certain players isn't bitching/complaining/whining.

Brookbank playing wing is fucking moronic regardless of the record.

No one is beyond reproach. Yeah they can get away with dressing Brookbank as a forward because they have a top 2 line combination that pretty much any other team in the league would kill to have and when it's a tough decision trying to figure out where to play a guy like Hossa or Kane or Sharp, that pretty much says it all. But that doesn't mean it's smart or the right decision to dress Brookbank as a forward so he can play, what, 5 or 6 minutes a game? What good does that do?

Again, if Morin is hurt or something, I could understand it. I don't understand dressing Brookbank in his place, but I would understand him not being played. But other than that, I don't see the reason. There's only one way you're going to find out if a player like him can make it at the NHL level. This is the same "complaint" some people here who are defending Q on this with Morin had with him not playing Pirri.

if hes not working hard in practice to get back in the lineup, he doesn't play. Again, Hammer might have been too hurt, or still nursing something, to finish a game, so Morin having to be hurt isn't a necessity in dressing brooks over him; insurance for an injured d-man

oh and FYI i didn't know this was a discussion board and we can't be positive or support a man with hockey experience/IQ far above our armchairs. Loosen up a little while grabbing your ankles, hurts less for both of us, sweetie.

Straight from Jim Hash Pipe....

I'm for letting the coach do what ever he wants, it's his team. Remind me when you get a team. I'll let you do it too. Specially when you are 12-2-4...

Now if you know specifically what his decision was behind that, please let the class Fucking know.

Q is playing Brookbank on wing to motivate Morin to play better. It's more of an indirect "well, you're not going to do what we ask, so you're going to force me to play a guy, out of position, to teach you a lesson".

Sassone wrote an article a week ago how Morin was getting scratched because he's not playing well defensively and away from the puck. On the 4th line, you need to be solid defensively considering you're not there to really score goals but provide a break for the top 3 lines and get some energy going.

Wing is also the easiest position to play, so hence that's where they send Brookbank.

I read somewhere that he played right field in little league. He's used to low expectations.

I get it. So fans shouldn't be discussing a 12-2-4 team on a team discussion board.

I'm glad we all voted to keep this place going, then.

By that same logic though, why didn't Q severely limit the ice time of Keith and Seabs up to about...2 games ago when they both were playing like a hot mess. After all, those two aren't rookie wingers; they are all-star D-men who are *paid* to play solid D and not score on their own goaltender.

In all fairness though, both have returned to expected form the past couple of games and I hope they keep it up. If they are on our D is on.

I get the whole motivation to make Morin play better (even thoughMorin actually hasn't looke bad--ditto on Pirri), and yeah, the team is winning which is the most important thing. I still have a gut feeling, though, that with three 6-7 d-men, even with Kostka injured, that one or both of Brookbank or Rosie is being showcased to just clear a bit of roster room.
