Another 2 points for Kane. Needs one more to keep pace with Crosby.

I'd gladly have the PP go 0-fer for the rest of the season in exchange for an improved PK

Well, that was shit.

I guess the sky is officially falling now, two losses in a row. Fire Q, trade everyone and rebuild, am I right?

No, the PK needs to step up. It's awful. Crawford also has to be better for 6M a year. Doesn't help that he has to play pretty much every game. I wonder if Q gives him the night off tomorrow?

Reporter: "Were you feeling the personnel loss a bit, the depth?"

Q: "No, we were right where we wanted to be. Playing the way we want, tight. Gotta be smart because you try to create and you'll get in trouble."

19 shots on goal, playing the way you want? Yeah, OK. Could have used a bit more creating if you ask me.

Reporter: "Did you get what you needed from Crawford?"

Q: "He has to be better."

Well, he was right on part of the post-game interview, I guess.

Has Versteeg played more than 20s of PK since being acquired? Maybe it's time to dump Kruger, Hammer, Oduya, and the random 4th guy as the "top" PK unit and go with something else? Considering those guys have been on the ice for like 11 goals against together? Kruger has been on the ice for the second most goals against on the PK in the entire NHL at 13. One behind the leaders at 14. He's not this awesome PK GOD everyone made him out to be.

Crawford .784 save percentage on the PK. Has to be close to last in the NHL. That's awful.

You can tell him that next year, since he's only making 2.5 this season.

Yup. Every day and twice on Sundays. Hawks score at just plain hockey so I don't have concerns about scoring and although I get as mega-frustrated as the next person at a futile PP considering the firepower the Hawks have on the roster and will mock it mercilessly as being Clown Shoes I would NEVER turn down having a Top 4 PK for top PP efficiency. Having the PK be crippled and balls-deep in suckitude was my greatest fear on Free Agency day when my boy Fro was so hastily discarded. People severely underestimated the importance of that boy's hustle and the cohesion he brought to the PK with Kruger. And seeing as they wound up picking up Versteeg's $2.2 mil I guess I wasn't so crazy in suggesting that all they had to do was fucking endure one more year of Fro's bad offense-oriented contract.
