Hey if we win that is 2 in a row, if we win 1 more that is a winning streak.

It has been so bad lately my friends and family lately have all been glowing about the 1 game winning streak, hopefully we keep the streak alive tonight!!

Columbus will be without Brassard and Dorsett for the next several weeks. The Blue Jackets were on a little roll but it's time to end it.

A 65% sober Kane will have a strong game.

Great game by Sharp and Crawford... other then that... no words. This team has no business being in the playoffs... ZERO killer instinct.

Still hopeful that they get a chance to defend their Cup but jeez... this is getting bad. Can't even string together a couple in a row.

Columbus- 29 wins 23 losses 6 OTL. Goal differential on the season= -16

Hawks- 29 wins 23 losses 6 OTL. Goal differential on the season= +20

Someone please explain this to me.

Very simple -- they win the close games. We lose the close games. When we win, we tend to win by more than one or two goals.

I was looking for just a bit more depth than that.

The entire top line played great.

Unfortunately this teams grinding lines, suck and the 2nd line has a missing Hossa.

It is what it is. I knew when they didn't cash in on the THREE wide open nets in the first period alone it was going to be a long night.

Crawford was a little goofy on two of the goals. Although one most definitely should have been whistled and wasn't.

they should stitch those numbers on their backs.

This right here is the reason why the bluejackets are tired with us in points yet have a -16 goals to our + 20. You don't win tight games and you don't protect leads without grinding the other team down. What happened to this teams physical edge? It couldn't have all been traded away could it have been? What happened? What are all the new guys doing out there? If they aint scoring which they are not they have to add something to this club or show they want to be on it. Hit a fucking body for crying out loud. Where are the coaches in all of this? Where's the motivation? I don't think I have seen a softer team. These guys make Gretzky look like Scott Stevens for **** sakes.

18 freaking hits to 43. That's not just shocking it is disgraceful. This isn't hockey, I don't know what the hell it is. HIT HIT HIT...rub someone along the boards do something for **** sakes. No one is intimidated of this team you can see it and you can feel it.

The Frolik deal by the way is looking worse and worse game by game. Man he sucks.

Great game by...Crawford...

What were you smoking last night, Stu?! Crawford absolutely had to have at LEAST two of those goals. He didn't look confident last night at all....

Thought the one goal should have been whistled , it seemed Crawford had the puck covered long enough. The Stahlberg interference penalty against Boll was a weak call, it appeared to be two players going hard for the puck, ( which of course led to a PP goal for Columbus).

1st line was outstanding, Hossa coming off a great game disappeared last night.

I truly did not expect a repeat this year due to the team decimation, but I never thought making the playoffs would be a struggle.

Keith looked like that puck was a hand grenade and Hossa's vertigo must have kicked in.

There are definately times this year where I question Crawford's hockey sense/ability to read plays. He's left the net several times this year - waiving icing.

On that first goal last night, Leddy was pressing the left side. The guy couldnt go to the left side. The only thing he could do, was backhand to the right post - and had tons of room. Why the hell Crawford was sliding the other way is beyond me.

Yet, he made some really nice saves in scrambles...but easy ones go it. The easy ones, to me, seem to be if he's not ready or reading the shot/play wrong - not lack of talent.

Out hit again by more than double. Hope Stan is taking notes because every time we are out hit twice over we LOSE!

This team is still too soft. Alright Stan, lets make that 2nd move, you know the one that actually makes sense -- maybe the one where we gain a physical player instead of a soft one?

You know why Frolik isn't producing? Because he has no space out there, I've seen him on his ass more than skating with the puck. Its hard to produce when you are getting checked every time you touch the puck and there is no toughness to help even out those physical battles.

Sharp/Toews/Kane is effective because they are just too talented and move the puck so nicely that teams can't keep up.

Brouwer/Bolland/Hossa could work out but all of them seem to be streaky.

Bickell/Kopecky/Frolik, talk about skating around with eggs in your pockets, I mean Kopecky certainly knows how to take a beating in front of the net and does go into dirty areas but throw a check? Forget it. Bickell is either feisty and throwing his weight or hes lazy and floats waiting for plays to come to him. Frolik, I don't expect him to be physical at all -- that's just not his role, but for him to be effective he has to play with a physical player or someone who can help create space -- neither Bickell or Kopecky are those guys.

Is the 4th line even worth bringing up? Stalberg - useless, Dowell - PK but otherwise useless, Pisani - PK and still injured, Whoever else - probably useless

Time to make some choices here. Get rid of the guys who are not willing to hit enough (Kopecky, Stalberg, Bickell, Pisani, Dowell) and replace them with physical, hard working players. You don't have to get rid of all of them now, maybe half now, half in the off-season. The only guy I would keep is Bickell, he plays softer than he should but he still has potential to get there.

Imagine if we got rid of those guys, since they don't produce anyway, and replaced them with guys who can hit. Wow! Instant fix.

The Frolik deal is a win as far as trading assets. But as you have pointed out in other posts, it does not mean it's a win for what the Hawks need. They bring the guy in and stick him on left wing, a position he hasn't played. New team, new position, no results, no surprise.

At some point in the 3rd, Frolik was moved to the right side with Bickell and Kopecky. The Hawks then had a bottom 6 of which only 1 player kills penalties. The bottom 6 forwards don't bring jam and any ability to kill penalties.

In his presser, Haviland pointed out that in the 2nd the Jackets out worked the Hawks. Sad but true.

I believe only 1 goal was his fault. "Not one bad goal does a game make"... the 1st two periods he was OUTSTANDING.
