Anyone else outside the Chicago area miss the 1st period on Direct TV's NHL Center Ice? It was supposed to be on Ch 778 but the screen just said Direct TV during the 1st. A few minutes ago, Ch 778 finally started showing TSN's broadcast during the 1st period intermission. ****!

This is the outcome of a CLEAR Hawks win when the Refs get involved. Wave off a good Hawks goal and give the Nucks an offsides goal. That's a 2 goal difference... I really hope those ******* get hit by a bus.

I usually don't complain about the officiating, but the NHL just gave this freakin' game to those assholes. I thought this was one of the best games we've played all year (outside the penalty killing), and we deserved MUCH better. Screw the NHL and it's officiating...

I was just being a dick in chat guys to see how many buttons I could push. Obviously the Hawks got screwed by the officiating tonight. And it just had to be against the Canucks right? Soooo hard to take.

But honestly though I do hope Q doesn't have a major flip out in the post game. I hope he acknowledges the officiating but I hope he does it with some class unlike A.V. type coaches. Was a disgusting officiated game no need to be classless about it. Not going to change a thing anyways. Officials aren't going to go into the next game all feeling sorry. Acknowledge the league Q.

Other than that the boys played really hard and damn good tonight. Which makes getting raped by officials that much harder to take. Do have to score on those 5 on 3's though. Seems like we lose the games where we don't score on em. And Hossa just does not look the same if thats health issues well lets hope for the best. Kane gave a great effort tonight despite the ankle sprain. You could tell he was feeling it late in the game though.

Was a good effort. Sucks that 2 really bad calls were the difference in the game. I could care less if a few trips get missed or a high stick gets called that's not a high stick. Thats to be expected in games. But yah calling off goals like the one called off tonight? When the TSN panel is saying it was a bad call then you know its a bad call. No one are bigger Canadian team homers than the TSN guys. And yah offside goals? Come on. One absolute bad call is one thing in a game. But 2? Yikes.

P.S. not that it matters but why was Hendry a scratch tonight? He usually plays well against the Canucks. And yah what has happened to Crawford? Not blaming the loss on Turco or anyone else on the team I am just curious about those decisions tonight.

Good to know your expectations are so low.

Nothing low about it. You have been watching this game a long time Larmer. You know that missed calls come with the game of hockey. It's to be expected and it happens in every building. There is very rarely a perfectly officiated NHL game. You know that.

Like I said those are ticky tack missed called. The 2 blown calls tonight were actually huge ones and the types the league needs to address. Offside goals esp. There is no reason why those can't be reviewed. No judgement call needed when it comes to offside. There's a big blue line there that can make a review easy and quick.

As for the disallowed goal? Well Brouwer certainly wasn't interfering and he certainly wasn't in the crease as the official claimed he was. Tricky reviewing interference but something needs to be done there also. Looked to me that the call was made because Luongo looked right at the official as he always does when someone lightly brushes him. Think Luongo actually sold it and thats actually fucking sad.

So the old co-worker that moved to Seattle recently is going to be at the game in a 88 Red carrying a 4 foot Stanley Cup he made. Not only that he has a giant sign with a pic of the "Cup Winner" pic when everyone is on the ice with the Cup under that it says:

.....WE

......GOT

BLING

And under that a pic of the Stanley Cup Ring.

He'll be right behind one of the goals in the 2nd row.

Never saw the sign.

from the NHL.com article on the game:

The goal came after an apparent score by Bolland was waved off. He beat Luongo as Troy Brouwer cruised through the crease and made contact with the goaltender's stick, prompting an interference ruling by referee Eric Furlatt that negated the goal.

right...

People on HFboards last night were getting warned and banned for making threads about the two fucked up calls for the goal and no goal calls.

Apparently they don't need "typical whiny Blackhawks fans" criticizing officiating.

Grrr, yeah, that picture really proves it and it pisses me off. Great effort and great game, sucks that it had to come down to stuff like this. Annoys me to no end reading comments by Nucks fans on TSN saying Hawks fans are just whining...

Missed calls happen all the time. In most cases those missed calls even out in the course of a game. In last nights game the Nucks were gifted and re-gifted by the officials.

Go to the 3rd period after the non-goal(Brouwer) and the goal(off-side)in the 1st. Two minutes into the 3rd, Roberta Lou misplays the puck behind the net and the Nucks are scrambling with Rome making a save. The whistle blows while the Hawks have possession. The net was not off the morings. The Sharp trip non-call in the 3rd. With 10 minutes remaining in a tie game Seabrook is whistled for holding that was weak at best.

Should the Hawks special teams have been better? Yes. But suckage last night by the officials was not on just the "goal" calls in the 1st.

Sorry but no one can convince me otherwise. Yea the PP sucked last night... but two clear blown calls on a goal/no goal were the difference in this ONE GOAL GAME.

A couple years after that, Lysiak gets a lengthy suspension for triping a linesman.

It's 28 years after, but I'm blaming the Lysiak trip for last nights loss.
