Here we go again with fucken score predicting..... Lets just come out and play focused and determind, everything else should fall into place...we are much younger then they are...so it will show in the second to third period with them after playing back to back games. Crash the net and hope for deflections. Finally I hope our PP can pick up again, though SJ, has not allowed a PP goal in five games.

no score predictions here....as it always leads to bad endings.

I predict the score is 63-1 Hawks... Sharks get one because it wouldn't be a Blackhawks game without someone ruining the shutout.

Game time decision.

I find it interesting in his interview yesterday he said he was slashed to the ankle. Did anyone actually see it? Wouldn't put it past ANY Canuck player to do something dirty.

I had read that earlier this week, and, no, I didn't see it either. They said he really howled when he got slashed....prolly to get the ref's attention...

I don't know about that by the way he went down it looked pretty painful. Plus being helped off the ice and the bench.

If the Hawks can come out quickly, start hitting and set the tempo it should tire the Sharks pretty quickly. The Hawks also are very good at drawing a fair number of penalties when playing their high tempo game. Hopefully everyone will come out hustling as they should after two days rest. When the Hawks score early and set the tempo they do well but when they lay back a bit and score late they badly struggle to even pull off a tie to even get one point and send it into overtime.

Two things I hate the hawks facing, backup goalies... and ex-hawk goalies... haha.

We're likely getting Niemi, especially after Greiss was decent, but gave up a rebound from time to time last night.

No matter. I preferred getting Niemi anyway.

5-3 Hawks.

Nailed that shit for the first time this year.

8-0-2 baby!!!!

People are going to debate on whether that was a suspendable or clean hit or not on Mayers. But forget that, here's what I want anyone here to answer, because I don't get why this isn't talked about.

Why was there no penalty called when the hit happened? Why did play not stop, the refs could've done it, the Sharks had possession of the puck and actually made a few passes before the play eventually stopped with Keith starting the fight. But if it was a major penalty, why wasn't the play stopped? He was ejected from the game. Why did it apparently take Keith to also penalize his own team to get that call made?

The officiating was terrible tonight. The two calls on Leddy were far from being penalties.

To the defense of one of the refs tonight, he IS a rookie.

I can't believe I just said that... you know... defended a ref.

Game tilted in the Hawks favor as the game progressed. You just knew that it would be a one goal game after the fireworks in the first. I am neither here nor there on the Mayers hit, it didn't matter in the end. Crawford played well after the first period and glad to see Saad finally get that first NHL goal, here's to many more in the future.

Hawks off to an impressive start and with the Blues losing they manage to pull away some more in the all-important division battle.

1. The Refs didn't see it, or didn't see it as a penalty, ergo, play on.

2. See 1

3. See 2

It wasn't a penalty until they all huddled, and the Linesman explained to the Refs what he saw, prompting the Major/Match.

Charging (yes he left his feet), Interference (yes Mayers did NOT have the puck yet), Blind side hit (defenseless player).... 10 years ago play on, today, no way. it's just not a good hit anymore.

Match penalty, I don't think so, IMO it was not a head shot. The 3 penalties above, it was all three.

The puck hit Mayer's skates and bounces away, he had no idea it was there until he felt it hit his blades and was certainly not controlling or carrying the puck. His head was down and he was pretty defenseless. The contact was shoulder to shoulder/upper chest and might have got his noggin slightly. I thought it was maybe a hare late. No doubt was an attempt to blow him up which you have to construe as intent to injure these days. Few years ago legal hit, definite no-no this season.

Had the home team announcers on the game center feed last night on my blu-ray player. Homers for sure, they were going on and on about how it was legal, a good hockey hit, and were shocked when he got ejected. It was pretty pathetic actually.

Mayers got his ass handed to him on that hit. SJ is claiming that cost them the game, however. The score was tied at the time, 4 on 4 afterwards (followed by a Hawks brief PP)...and it took Keith t(the Hawks best Dman) off the ice for 20min. If they can't get past that with the veterans on that team...they have issues.

Toew's had a very good game. His whole line did. Congrat's to Saad who's only on the team for marketing reasons (per Haeckel)...he's looking better every game.

Shaw's line is looking better each game. Bickell was a monster. Shaw is looking like he's getting more comfy in his natural position.

Kruger's line could be a third line in the league - if Kruger could only win draws. He's a scrapper...huge fan of his game, especially his backcheck, his smarts...and Frolik is doing well as a PK'er. I don't know how he every scored 20g (2x) in this league.

Kane remains on fire. I thought the D played well...with the penalty situation they dealt with all game (Keith 20min, Leddy 4min)

The ice looked like shit. The puck seemed to explode off sticks...which I think hurt the Hawks way more than SJ

And.....Bolland. Proving why he hasn't been the 2nd line center some think he can be. Not sure how he can be playing with the white hot Kane - in 10 of the 11gms. He had the 3pt game vs PHX (2g-1a)...and in the other 9gms - 1g-0a-1pt, -4, 6 SOG, 41.6% at the dot.
