My thoughts are the same as others have posted already. The Hawks nearly beat a strong Detroit line up. I thought Salak was suspect, especially early, but those are some top flight players that scored on him. With his size, Hayes reminds me of Daisy.

I also have a question, is there a way to get Saad on the team this year?

To me he has shown he has the talent as a top 6 forward in the NHL one day, and its obvious there giving him a very good look cause he's the only one left not going to either Rockford or the big club. Personally I'm not a Stalberg fan and see much more potential just from prospects camp and this pre-season from Saad, (also he's from the OHL and those guys own.) Stalberg seems to have realized his role on the team now, but a second line with Saad-Sharp-Hossa would be interesting as shit. Maybe its just a pipedream but it just seems like it fits, our 2nd line LW position was kind of up for grabs and all of the sudden our 43rd pick is playing out of his mind.

Uptown baby!
The Smith-Pirri-Hayes line was very good, Rockford has a lot to look forward to this season.

Agreed. As I consider last season a wasted development year under Peters let us all pray that Dent has the know-how to develop the Hawks assets (and there's a shitload of them) properly and in the process also deliver some great hockey to Rockford.

Going to a shootout against a Wang team dressing a good number of their regulars is a good result.

I could only see from a distance on a small tv... but what the hell move was that by bertuzzi in the shootout? It looked pretty awesome and I haven't seen a replay.

Two of the Chicago Blackhawks' most dynamic offensive players, Patrick Kane and Marian Hossa, will make their preseason debuts Wednesday night against the Detroit Red Wings at the United Center.

Kane missed the first four preseason games while recovering from July 19 surgery on his left wrist to repair a scaphoid fracture. Hossa arrived late in camp after remaining in Slovakia following the death of close friend Pavol Demitra in the plane crash that took the lives of the KHL team Lokomotiv and then the birth of his daughter two days later.

Coach Joel Quenneville said that No. 1 goaltender Corey Crawford will start against Detroit and play the entire game. The battle for the backup goalie spot between veteran Ray Emery and rookie Alexander Salak will continue Friday night when Emery plays the entire game against the Penguins.

Meanwhile, forward Patrick Sharp skated on his own for the third consecutive day as he recovers from an emergency appendectomy on Sept. 12.

"He's progressing well," Hawks coach Joel Quenneville said after Tuesday's practice. "We're very happy with where he's at. Each and every day he's able to do a ltitle bit more. We're very encouraged."

Pmx had it right... anyways... I'm saving my luck and awesomeness for when the games really count. The last two GDTs have been better than mine anyways.

Usually I'm busy and worshipping my Jagr shrine.

Saad can't go to Rockford. He is only 18. If memory serves me right, he can stay on a 10 game tryout. They can decide before that time to send him back to his junoir team or they can keep him on the big club all year. Those are the only 2 options, I believe.

There is a rule out there about players playing in the USA program. It was used to get Morin early as well. I just don't think they'll use it.

Yea I know he can't go there unless there is that American player, the tryout is 9 or ten games for sure and would love to see him make the team. Obviously playing 20 minutes and dominating in Saginaw would be good but I'm not sure he would be pretty productive with the surrounding talent on this team.

Also can someone explain to me how Pirri was allowed to play in Rockford last year? I was under the impression it was twenty and up.
