IF the Dallas makes the playoffs it's because the Hawks went 4-6-1 against Edmonton, Colorado, Florida and N.J. The Hawks are right were they deserve to be on the inside looking out and probably on the outside looking in when tonight's game is over. 9 points out of 22 against those four teams is shit hockey and they do not deserve to make it in.

Also like to point out the "it's early" comments at the beginning of the season after the Hawks stumbled is a pretty asinine comment as a couple of points in October wouldn't have the Hawks in this mess. Hindsight is always 20/20.

Just need to reset, take a long deserved rest and gear up for next season. Hopefully winning the Cup will be a biennal thing for the Hawks.

Exactly right. You can't win a division or playoff spot early but you sure as hell can lose one.

Both Carolina and Hawks lost games that would have clinched them playoff spots. Third time a charm for Dallas or does the trend continue?

I can't take the "we lost depth" excuses anymore.

Pitts lost Malkin, Crosby for the last 40 games of the season and didn't have Staal the first 40 yet they still seemed to make the playoffs.

Hossa, Keith, Seabs, Hammer, Bolland (bad back so not so much) and Brouwer had underwhelming seasons. Turco was a bum.

"Depth" does hurt, but for a team up against the cap because they have so many "star" player salaries, and we don't make the playoffs? Enjoy golf season!
