I can't take the "we lost depth" excuses anymore.
Pitts lost Malkin, Crosby for the last 40 games of the season and didn't have Staal the first 40 yet they still seemed to make the playoffs.
Hossa, Keith, Seabs, Hammer, Bolland (bad back so not so much) and Brouwer had underwhelming seasons. Turco was a bum.
"Depth" does hurt, but for a team up against the cap because they have so many "star" player salaries, and we don't make the playoffs? Enjoy golf season!
Out of the players you mentioned, Seabs was the most consistent.
Turco-- a bum? I think that falls on the coach relying on the rookie on back to backs. Turco made sense financially, and fell into the backup role nicely.
At the end of today, I'll begin playing the cap game with myself (oh goodie-- get me some lube).
Good season boys. 97 points was the cutoff. Is that the new record? Thank you 3 point games.
[edit] Minny ties the game as I posted this.
C'mon Wild.
