You'd feel differently if you spent christmas with my family; christmas eve we (my brother, parents, and one of my friends I've known since I was six [plus any girlfriends]) cube a beef tenderloin and set up a crock-pot as a fryer on the dining room table to cook up the beef. Sides are usually cornbread, home fries, salad, cranberry gelatin, and generally one or two experimental dishes. We generally go through about 3 bottles of wine/champagne per person...needless to say, a good time is had by all.

Edit: Ohh, and there is generally shrimp or crab legs to fry up as well (I'm not a fan of shrimp so I kind of forgot that part).

The celebration of Thanksgiving is better than Christmas, absolutely. I've been over the gifts thing for years and would rather get the family together for a few hours, watch football, and eat.

Ham > Turkey though

Maybe I need to factor that in as well

Recently, I kind of agree. Christmas is pretty depressing lately. It seems like every year, a good part of my family loses their job, or has been looking for work for so long, that they feel like shit on Christmas when they can't afford to do gifts. Of course, everyone understands and tells them not to worry, but deep down it hurts.

I've seen enough holidays to not give a damn about any of them anymore.

Christmas is all about entertainment, I go almost as crazy with holiday lighting as I do with pyrotechnics on the 4th of July.

Then I get to blow shit up again for New Years, I love the holidays!.

Both holidays are the same to me, small. I don't have much family...Well I do but they don't come here and we don't go there. It's pretty much just my parents and grandpa...though for Christmas this year we get my sister and her husband, and my uncle as Well...So that will be nice.

Christmas >>>>> T'Giving. Not for gifts (though my 4 year old niece, my parents only grandbaby, is the star of the show), but for the family, the food, the Reason for the season, and Ham >>>>> Turkey.

20 years ago when I was single - Christmas > Thanksgiving
Now that I'm married and have kids - Thanksgiving > Christmas

Christmas is dragging two overstimulated/overtired kids to four different places... eating all the wrong crap for two days straight... and worst of all, having to deal with the in-laws who are the overweight, balding, loud & obnoxious (i.e perfect stereotypical example of) Packer fans.
