Well then one and maybe two of my shows don't count since Kids in the Hall debuted in 1988 and the Simpsons is tricky. The actual series debuted in 1989 but the Simpsons was on TV for a couple years prior to that.

I definitely see the Simpsons as 80s. Especially after all of those Tracy Ulman shows in the mid 80s. Kids in the Hall is a tough one.

But I'm not the ultimate authority.

Yet another reason why we need alternating decades to stir the pot a bit. 85'-95' ect, ect.... :)

I guess I can sort of see the Simpsons as 80s (the first sketches were in 87), but given its run and promience in the 90s I think it still counts. Kids in the Hall is tough too because it didn't really start playing in the states til the 90s. I still remember the commercials from Comedy Central announcing them getting Kids in the Hall.

And the Simpsons can be 2000s too! LOL :) I guess you can be all of the above sometimes.

The Simpsons have a very unique place in TV history so I would say all of the above would be a good category. However, while admittedly bias, those 3-6 seasons(maybe as far as 8) are some of the best television I've ever seen. I guess I just remember the craze that occured really starting in the early 90s around the show, and so it will always feel more 90s than anything else. There is a bit of perspective bias since while I did see a few sketches on the Tracy Ullman show I was not a real big time fan til the series began.

Personal opinion. I worked at Haunted Trails in 1989. We exchanged oodles and oodles of game tickets for Simpson gear from shirts to hats to stuffed characters

So basically when the series started in 1989? I am just trying to be clear here because my recollection was that it wasn't the huge success until after the first few episodes in season 1.

I don't know when the show started, but summer of 89 everyone was told not to have a cow

Side note: Bart gave birth to Chik Filet

Man I watched way too much television that most of the shows listed here were things that I regularly watched including Chris Elliot's Get a Life. I watched both Ghostbuster cartoons though the Real Ghostbusters was my favorite of the two. And Beavis and Butthead is a classic, but given what the returns of Family Guy and Futurama have been I am only cautiously optimistic about what the new shows will be like.

The New Beavis and Buttheads will be as good or better..They have been gone for so long that there is years of material for Mike Judge to put together, especially when he can focus on it with King of the Hill canceled. As you saw in the new Utube footage, Mike Judge kept the style the same and doesn't seem to be overdoing anything..Its the same good old Beavis and Butthead...He should also put out another full length movie like he did with beavis and butthead do america to help promote the show....I can't wait to see what mike judge's cartoon version of Barrack Obama will look like..Considering that he put Bill Clinton in the old Beavis and Butthead show, I figure Barrack will be in the new one..Beavis and Butthead won't ever go out of style..:troll:
