If it’s in Gary, it will be next to trailer park homes and burnt out buildings.

Well, to be fair, there is a lot of unused space in Gary. It isn’t exactly thriving. It would bolster their economy. But, it isn’t pretty, your point is well taken.

It’s so obvious it’s Arlington Heights. It has always been the plan but they had to navigate the politics. We might get that announcement Wednesday.

They just failed. Some of it was their own doing, some of it was macro factors outside their control. But it is not just ā€œpoliticsā€ that has thwarted them for the three plus years it has been since they reached that deal to buy Arlington Park.

—They don’t have the money to build it because the McCaskey family doesn’t actually do anything.
—The state has zero interest in giving them a cent for it when their current building is the ninth newest in the NFL.
—Nobody is lending them the money because it’ll have as many cost overruns as digging subway tunnels in New York City.

WTF ? It would be good for Gary is all I said and they have space.
Don’t worry. He’s a complete asshole. He didn’t know how to get to Arlington Heights or procure a reservation to the local Red Lobster (his favorite restaurant). Now he’s snarly.

Those of us who live in cook county will still be paying for the Mistake by the lake until 2033. Thanks, Daleys, for this, the parking meter rape for the failed Olympic bid, and of course Miegs field

There is and will probably be more sites throwing their hats in the fight to get the Bears, but there was only 2 places that I think they took seriously. The Bears will use all of it for leverage and have seen that help progress in Arlington Heights Papa Bear Halas himself wanted to go to Arlington Heights so you know that carries a lot of weight with George and the gang. The only thing that would keep the Bears from going to AH provided they can pay for it, is Chicago and IL coming back with all out support to build on the Lakefront.

Yes, George Halas did express interest in relocating the Chicago Bears to Arlington Heights, Illinois, in 1975. He considered Arlington Park a potential site for a new stadium, aiming for a 35-year lease with the racetrack's owner, Madison Square Garden Corp. However, the proposal ultimately fell through due to uncertainties in the municipal bond market and rising interest rates, according to Daily Herald.

The Bears have zero leverage. Like truly none. They have been fully blown off by the governor, state legislature and now city of Chicago.
