what are those bigger plans?...striking out on carmelo?

89HANHg.gif

First, you think the 2014 FA season would be big for the Bulls if they signed ...... drumrole ..... Ben Gordon?

:andruw:

Next, there's Mirotic, who is bigger, more versatile, and can probably shoot near as well, for all you know. Then, of course, there's all the FA's out there everyone has been talking about. Heck, maybe Charlotte gets lucky and we get a mid round 1st next year? We'd land a good player there for sure the way we've been drafting!

Then, you've got to factor in the development of the current Bulls. You got Jimmy, and now Teague is looking good. Imo, Snell and Murphy both look like good additions that will grow. Heck, we don't even know how good the Bulls will be this year!

YEAH! I think all of that is much better sounding then a selfish, no defense playing, Ben Gordon! LOL@U

Then you've got Deng and Kirks contract coming off the cap at about $18 million. And Boozers contract might be more attractive as an expiring contract for some team. Replace Boozer with Mirotic and sign your 2nd star and we're off to the dance.

Yeah, but now that I think about it, signing Ben Gordon would be huge.

if you can get that 2nd star by all means sign him over Ben Gordon...i wont argue there

although with signing Nikola you only got like 7m to play with...good luck getting a 2nd star for that

and of course hes gonna want more than min...lets not insult him twice

hes not gonna be asking for 55m either tho

hes a viable option to get Rose some help scoring....you see how the floor opens up when Rose is out there...with Ben out there it could cause some serious issues for the other team...and when Rose taking a breather he could be out there keeping the scoring going...sure hes not a superstar but i think he could do wonders for us

i still stand by if we had him in 2011 that heat series was going to 7

but sure we can keep standing pat and waiting for this mythical perfect 2nd option

I don't know why the Bulls need this so called "2nd option". They have plenty of "2nd options" in Deng, Boozer, Butler, etc.

This team (on offense) is going to be all about ball-movement, mis-direction, getting to the line, Rose being Rose, scores in transition, etc.

Basketball is a lot more complicated than two players playing catch and shoot. We saw how that worked out with the Knicks with Melo and J.R. Smith. It was laughably bad (and will continue to be)

Rose + the offensive system is how this team is going to score, and Rose + offensive system, plus amazing defense, rebounding, and hustle is how this team is going to win.

This team has an amazing amount of talent and depth plus an elite head coach and people just keep bitching and bitching and bitching. Can you not appreciate what you have?

Totally agree! The Bulls already have a pretty good team. People keep talking about 2011. The Bulls have quietly assembled another nice bench mob this year and have DRose back, who happens to look even better. Also, a lot of other players look to have developed nicely in Thibbs system. Throw in a Snell and a Murphy, and I like our roster.

The roster is looking to be loaded with versatile swing men. The Bulls totally addressed the 3 pt shooting, and are now, loaded with shooters. Rose, Dunn, Deng, Snell, and Murphy, can all shoot the 3.

I agree with OP, BG7 is the missing piece.

As long as he's willing to come off the bench. I think he still is trying to start, so he's gonna end up somewhere on a bad team that will give him the opprtunity to start

aslong as he gets minutes i think hes fine coming off the bench

i dont know were he might want to go....i would say he'd like to play for his hometown Knicks but they are such a mess...hes a better fit in Chitown

Ben Gordon cannot help this team. Bad FG%, takes a ton of bad shots, human turnover machine that makes Boozer look good, no defense to speak of. No thank you.

I agree with OP, BG7 is the missing piece.

The missing piece that Pax let walk away.
He should of been fired immediatly afterward.
The only way i could ever forgive Pax is if he brings Ben back and redeems himself in SP94's eyes.
