Personally, I think there's going to be a lot of disappointed people when Suter isn't signed and a 2C isn't acquired thru FA or a trade. Just don't see Bowman making any big moves this offseason.

Doesn't mean I agree with that, either.

It is very possible that is the scenario. He has to expect a backlash if he does another "old and past their prime" offseasons no?

Lets say hypothetically you are right. Thats not a very good team. a playoff team? maybe, but barely in the wild west.

Unless a few prospects play out of their minds, you're right. I've got faith that a few of those AHL/CHL guys are going to be good in the future. But in 2012? That's a stretch.

Get another real good defenseman, at least, and I'll be content. A 2C would be even better, but I'm not holding my breath for that.

I think they'll just add depth on both sides of the puck.

If there's a big move, it'll be Kane shown the door.

Bowman hasn't shown the sack to make a big move, so that'll lead me to think there won't be one.

We're probably diving too much into the semantics of what constitutes a "big" move, but I think Hjalmarsson's future in Chicago is very much in jeopardy. That's the only guy that I could see leaving town this summer.

If he doesn't make a decent move before the Fan Convention, gonna be some unhappy diehards.

Question here, for everyone else because I know Capt won't answer it.

Is the Fan Convention really for the diehards? I certainly don't think so. I think that would be like saying the 100 level is for diehards just because they spend the most money. Trust me, there are definitely diehards down in the 100 level (just like there will be at the convention) but the larger majority is definitely people who are there just because it is the "it" thing to do.

The Fan Convention is a great idea and great for marketing but I certainly don't think it is for the diehards necessarily.

I would think if "diehards" are going to oppose Bowman's moves, they wouldn't be shelling out hundreds of dollars for tickets and passes to fan conventions or tickets.

As much grief as i've given Kenny Williams for some of his trades, at least he has a pair.

Really not my point. Just meant it won't be "all rosy".

I can't imagine the grief Q will get if the team starts off slow.

I think if they fire Q early in the season because of a slow start, that'd be a huge mistake.

The hawks convention is loaded up with die hards, actually too many meatballs at the convention.

I only sit at 100 level since I get them from clients and go to 5-10 games with exception of this year.

To say there arent many die hards at the 100 level is plain ignornace and self reassurance that 300 level is "the place to be" and thats where "all die hards are" There are plenty of die hards that know the game very well in the 100 level. pure ignorance. The "larger majority" comment is a blanket statement and you just throwing shit against the wall.

and the whole joe "wont respond" comments in every post is a bit like bread after its sell by date....stale.

they do in baseball. got to witness it at the sox convention a few years back.

300 Level is filled with plenty of morons.

I'm interested in who Dews and Capt. think the Blackhawks will acquire at center

I don't know how it is pure ignorance. I sit in the 100 level for atleast 20 games a year and the amount of non-hockey talk and lack of knowledge is pretty amazing at times. Also, don't know what you mean with the self reassurance since I never said I sit in the 300 and in fact sit in the 100 level. Assumptions...

As I said, there are definitely die hards down there but a whole lot of people in that level, and in my opinion the majority, are there because it is the "it" thing to do in Chicago.

well alot of those people who think "its the thing to do" are meatballs. been to enough conventions to not want to go anymore because of the fucking die hard meatballs and their zhmanov jerseys.

there is enough die hards that go that the place will be buzzing with pissed off fans if they dont do shit.
