It's really too bad that it has come to this, but it looks like Zambrano is probably done as a Cubs player.

my thoughts here.

and I'm going to make an effort to be here as much as possible all over the board.

I still like him too. Wherever he ends up I'll be supporting him. I hope he goes somewhere that he can help make the playoffs.

He goes down as one of the best Cubs pitchers ever. It would appear that his bosses are done with him though.

Jim Hendry can be done with Z so easy but what about Pinella. I honeslty don't get it and can't wait till next season when Hendry and Pinella are gone.

he has been mellow all year, it had to come out at some point! i really think they messed him up when they tried to calm him down over the winter or whenever they did it.....I loved the emotion he brought to the mound, and that is when he pitched his best IMO. of course he went overboard every once in a while, but, that was just Z. he has been, still is, and will always be one of my favorite Cubs of all time.

I've always wanted to root for Big Z...actually said (like several others I'm sure) that he would throw a no-hitter or perfect game at some point...but the dude is the pitching version of a sick combo of Manny Ramirez and Milton Bradley. He can't keep his cool...when he gets rattled over ANYTHING (bad call, bad defense, bad pitch, etc.) it effects him in a negative way for the rest of the game...He's over-paid, as are about 6 other Cubs players...and I'm just tired of this team playing like middle school girls.

He sounded as if going with 24 tomorrow *actually* meant something significant.

What Bob Brenley said is true, though. We have been playing like tiny kids with no passion this entire season, with the exception of a small grouping of games.
